    LOL, this is CHEAP.

Braces here, especially Invisalign, can be like $2-5k or more.

And you forgot to move the period over... and use a comma. :D

Braces are expensive in the states from what I remember. I have no idea now but I recall my mom saying something to the tune of $2k back in the mid-80's for my sister that needed them dearly. That's like a million dollars today.

In all honesty, I'd not let a Japanese orthodontist put braces on my teeth.

I've heard Japan's National Health is about 4% of your salary, and based on my salary I'm better off with Global Health, even more so since I pay in US dollars. I have the plan that's just under their max coverage plan so pretty much everything is covered but the max payouts are a bit less, which isn't really a sticking point for me (knock on wood). I can also get one-time coverage for trips to the US if I want to. Plus I just pay once a year and then I don't really have to worry about it.

Fair enough. I've thought about getting something a little more international (had it before) but I'm really only interested in something that will cover me for long-term illness when I move back to the states, and won't drop me at the first sign of health issues.

I also want to be a millionaire.
