Dev kit question

    hi i got a X360 Devkit but no PSU tried a normal retail psu but theres no sign of life is this normal? i heard you get red ring if you dont have the correct psu? and is there any way i can test if its working without the 213w psu?

    I presume your Dev Kit has a sidecar?

    ...If so you need a psu that outputs 5amps.

    yeah it has the sidecar i see a small bleep in the sidecar when i plug it in then the psu light goes red that normal?

    i was reading that if i remove the sidecar i can run with retail psu as the unit still has the seal on is this a good idea will de-value the unit any?

    Yes, remove the sidecar and it will run with normal psu.

    im waiting on a psu to come from someone here on AG but just wanted to test the unit out its a black/gray devkit with hdmi so dont these run on lower power anyway? was brand new tho still in its packaging but just the main unit and a welcome letter

    still waiting for my xdk psu? :)

    for the moment you can:

    1. remove the sidecar and try a retail psu (203)

    2. try this solution: LINK (the one I sell to you is full working)

    Well, on retail red PSU light means error, so if it's the same it's not good.

    THe Psu cant Turn on the system because of the sidecar, Thats prob why its turning Red.

    Yeah, I figured, since it needs more power. Sidecar is for taking screenshots and stuff, right?

    It houses the hard drive and Performance Investigator port and Dvd Emulation Port.

    Mine Says 3A thats why I was wondering and it works with my Testkit with sidecar.

    My power supply says input 5A output 3A

    I dont know if this helps but i have a few 360 bricks that work with all Test/debug kits and Retail kits.
    The model number is DPSN-216BB-1A
    it is a 213W psu
    t
    he only thing thing is
    this is a 200-240V brick

    If anyone needs more info on test kits or anything just pm me.
    i've got a few sitting around and i'm bored at the moment

    i heard that you can use a xbox elite power cable. im not sure if it works also im not sure if it works with a side car
