Not too surprising, in my opinion. Capcom is the masters of announcing something, then have it ported to something else. Just hope that they don't have Ubisoft handling the PC version...
Word, in fact DMC+X360= bye bye PS3 (unless sony brings t3h g4m3 of this generation, and keeps it as a exclusive title) But honestly, what are the odds?
Looks like I'll get it for whichever has the best downloads then...and I'm assuming that will be the Xbox 360 version.
Good news for us XB360 owners but I suspect the big Sony games this round will come from Sony Worldwide Studios. Edit: Post 1000!
So...you mean to say that Sony's going to try and mimic the "Nintendo Method(tm)" of selling consoles based solely on the strength of first party titles? -hl718
If sony can hold on to Monster Hunter 3 as an exclusive they might be ok. Just look at the psp sales of MH Pocket 2.
Yea, I don't think Sony can lose in Japan...at least to Microsoft anyway. US and Europe on the other hand ...
Eh, although it seems like Japan is not even the major market anymore for console games. Most seem to be focusing on porting Japanese made games for the 360 for the sake of American and Europe audiences.
Haha! One would hope they have better 3rd party support than Nintendo! With costs of development I doubt we'll see many third party exclusives on the PS3 until they sell more units. If MGS4 goes multi-format though, I think Sony are done for.
The only thing that can save the PS3 is a minimum of a $100 price drop and MGS4 and FF13 by this Christmas in the US and Japan. Maybe.
I know the PSX sold better in many countries thanks to pirates. If it runs pirates, people will love and care for it like they did for Ps1 /PS2
I think things will change once there is a price drop and HOME goes live. A lot of the more casual gamers will want in on that and then things will pick up. I bought an XB360 because I was tired of waiting for things to get started but I will likely buy a PS3 once those two things happen. The console has only been out ~5 months. We'll see how many they sell in the coming week. If they sell out then that is just over 3 million total.
Dont you guys remember the first days of the PS2? it was so lame that everybody thought it was going to lose against the DC, since that one had a very sucessful launch plus a strong lineup, while the PS2 had almost nothing. It wasnt until almost a year after US launch that GTA3 came out and things started moving. Obviously the DC was droped at the time and both GC and Xbox where still waiting in the line, which is something that did not happen this time. But at the same time the PS2 reached a point where it had 70% of the market, a bigger disparity than in any other generation after the Nes. So we could say the PS3 isnt going to lose, but it aint going to reach the same sales numbers that the PS2 did. I heard you can already run games from the HDD using Linux, is that true?
