Trailer looked awesome.....but I still dont like the fact R2 and 3PO are in 1,2 and now 3 also....but still, the purging of the Jedi looks awesome. Yet again I shall be forced to fight my way to the first local screening of the film in may.... I hope the force is with me then...
I'll download this at work. I didn't mind Episode I as much as II. I thought the actor for Anakin was godawful in both movies (the kid takes the cake, though). I hope they chop Jar Jar's balls off at the beginning of the movie. That would make my day.
So fucking true but in my book the actor playing anakin in episode II couldn;t act even if his life depended on it..man i've never seen such god awfull acting especially in the romantic scene's
I have equal hatred for them both, then . The child had an excuse; I believe it was one of his first films. There was no reason for the actor in Episode II to be part of the movie.
Just watched the trailer damn dam this movie is going to make up for the fucked episodes I and II sooo badly..i can't wait that trailer gave me goosebumps.
Wouldn't that make everyones day? I fucking hate Jar Jar. He spoilt the entire 1st movie for me. Fucking italian sounding wanker! Yakumo
It's true, the only thing me and my friend could think was that they were speaking slowly for the kids watching. Most actors in the second new film seemed to be over-pronouncing every word... it's weird. Anyway the trailer for Attack of the Clones looked decent iirc (not too sure), so I'm not sure how much faith I'd take in this trailer, but the book's apparently the darkest in the series, which is promising for decent amounts of asskicking and none of that bullshit forced romance.
I, for one, have been desperately waiting for Episode 3 since like 8 months ago. I'm so god damn eager. They really MUST kill Jar Jar. At least in a "poochie" manner. I would forgive them. And yes, Christensen does suck ass... and the ass-suckingest thing is that they put him in the new DVD version of Episode VI, didn't they?
You know the part at the end of Jedi, where the Ewoks are celebrating, eating Stormtrooper brains and procreating? Luke's off doing his moping around thing, and when he looks up into the trees and sees the three ghosts, the one of Sebastian Shaw had been replaced by Hayden Christianson. That's why I'm collecting the Laserdiscs. Digital media without all the "I'm George Lucas, bitch!" fuckups that came with the Special Edition and DVD set.
Because george lucas is an :smtassho: who likes to rape his own movies along with stephen spielberg..just look at fucking ET remake..ah yes let's replace all the guns by walky-talky's and change some things sayd to more pollitically correct terms.. Make a masterpeice and then just don't touch it you money greedy basterds !!! :die
Sometimes you have to blame the script/writer...Christensen was great in Life as a House...if anyone screwed up those scenes it was Lucas. Lucas should be banned from ever writing anything even remotely resembling a love scene ever again. Though he was always better as a creative force rather than a writer anyway...
Give Spielberg some credit though. At least he released both cuts of E.T. when it hit dvd. Speaking of movie trailers. Has anyone seen the trailer for Sin City yet? That movie looks like it's gonna kick all kinds of ass.
I'm really anticipating Sin City as well - I've heard of the comics before, but never really got into them much, although I do love Frank Miller's writing. And I agree that Christianson did a really good job in Life As A House, but his acting seems to be rather lukewarm on Episode 2 - we'll see if he gets any better in Episode 3. Another problem with the new series could be just this - Lucas is the director. Out of the original three, he only directed Star Wars, which could explain the different feel. The guy is a good writer, and as samael64 said, a great creative force, but I don't think his directing is really up to snuff. That and I think he's relying on ILM far too much. They were formed for Star Wars to create effects not possible in real life at the time, but now it seems like everything gets the magic CG touch. The films lose a bit of soul in that regard, if you ask me.
I also think much of it has to do with the fact that it is much harder to act with inanimate objects and blue screens than a traditional set. Look a Samuel Jackson for a perfect example. He is a good actor but the Star Wars movies are not the best examples of this. He mostly had to interact with Yoda in those scenes though.
Well... having a director who knows how to direct helps as well. Lucas and his buddies are awful character directors.
