Brilliant, thanks for sharing. Hope one day the rom makes it out there for us to try too. But for now this is great to watch.
Amazing videos, thank you @10ahu for sharing. The dynamic lighting, the little extra effects to add detail (the sparking lights in the prison, the blood splatters that drip on the floor/walls/models when the main character gets shot/hurt) really make this particular game stand out to me. Not only that, but running at an incredibly stable framerate, AND retaining that framerate when particles are on screen? Well optimised, to boot. Very impressive for the N64, a bit more polish, some revised level design (there were a few bad backtracking segments in the prison that are difficult for the player to read as well as lack of indication to solve puzzles or move to the next area), and some fresh soundbytes and this game would have been quite the stunner if it hit shelves. Would it compete with Goldeneye? Of course not , but it would have been a very nice title to come home to. I had one of the Die Hard Trilogies on the PS1 back in the day (it's still around somewhere..), and I loved the third person shooter game in that trilogy. This N64 shooter is almost EXACTLY what I wanted from a Die Hard game then, I love it. It's a shame you can't release the ROM just yet but I respect the team's decision on that matter. I will eagerly await the day when this surfaces publicly so I can rigourously play the hell out of it.
I know I'm late to the party, but I do appreciate you sharing this. Die Hard Arcade and Die Hard Trilogy are two of my favorite games. I grew up on DHA. Thanks so much for posting and giving us the time to ask questions. Best wishes for any future endeavors. Mind if I ask a few questions? If you can't answer them please feel free to tell me to shut up... - Which came first, the license or the game? - How much of this game made it into Die Hard Vendetta on the GameCube? - Were you the one playing the game in the footage you showed us? It's likely that the developer had access to the same leased-out sound bank that the DHT people had. Not to disparage but "Generic Action Game Sounds."
Late reply but, it's too bad we'll never see the game's ROM getting posted online Even though it's a little bit rough around the edges on what's shown on the videos, as a FPS and Die Hard fan, looks really fun
Great news guy! I m almost cleared to release the die hard 64 rom! With a little luck i ll post them tonite
Brilliant! You have outstanding motivation for the good of this community. Very keen to see a build of this released so I can thoroughly enjoy it.
God bless you mister Maybe it's a bit too early to say it but if you can, try to release the ROM for Riqa if you have permission to do it
