Different sites keep pushing more ads the longer you're there???

I was visiting some game blog site where I found an archive for a Dreamcast PC case mod.

    Check this out:

    274 ON ONE PAGE???!!!

Interesting thing is the number kept slowly climbing as I stayed there drooling over the article. I gave up at 274. Probably could have kept going...

Have a shitload of blocked ads on a page you visited assuming you use adblock extensions?

You would be surprised how much crap most sites have these days. Malware included.

The other thing is that some of the ad serving frameworks put web beacons into the advertising frames - that way, they can tell if your browser actually rendered the frame or just ignored it - and in a lot of cases if the frame doesn't display then they try and show another one.

AdBlock really is a gift from some superior being- it makes browsing the web so much more enjoyable...

Also how long was that page? There might have been 274 ads scrolled way down a very long page, or a couple slots for ads that rotate on random... 274 ads wouldn't fit on your screen unless you had a stupidly high resolution screen. Or they were a couple words each.

I too hate ads and love AdBlock... I feel bad for putting them on my YouTube videos, but they end up paying for the hosting of my neglected website...
I just hope my subscribers use AdBlock too for their own sake! :smile-new:
Every time I see an ad I feel like crying.
I turned AdBlock off the other day for some reason and then visited eBay... it's a completely different place...!
