    Hey everyone,

Here I am again to report on yet another possible find of Dinosaur Planet - the game often considered "the holy grail" of unreleased games, and my personal favorite.
    However, this time is different.

    It might actually be real.

For me, the picture of the script is proof that there's a high chance that this is real.
Of course, currently we don't know for sure, there haven't been any pictures/videos yet of the cartridge nor the gameplay.

What do you guys think? Could this be it?

Very likely it's fake. The image he used on Twitter is not even his, it was taken by i2a2n2 and was sold to him by mrmark. i2a2n2 lives in Canada, not Missouri. It's highly unlikely that he sold it in a garage for $2.

The version demonstrated at E3 had both Krystal/Sabre gameplay, too.

I'm really weary when I hear that an ex RARE employee sells this amazingly rare one of a kind prototype at a garage sale, I'd love it to be true but I'll hold off my celebrations untill it's dumped.

I knew there was another picture of the script floating around somewhere, but I couldn't find it...
Guess we'll see how it plays out on Twitter...

I'm willing to say this one is fake. The fact he stole a photo here makes it sketchy. Also on his twitter he mentioned taking a pic of the cart and taking video footage, neither of which have popped up.

Yeah, seems fake, the whole garage sale thing just doesn't stick. Hope I'm wrong, obviously :).

At first I thought this might be genuine, but reposting an old picture is a pretty big red flag. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if CuriousLugia does send a video/pics to Unseen64 like he said he would.

*sigh* It's gotta be out there somewhere!

That and the fact that Rare was/is? HQ'ed in the UK, you'd have more chances of finding something like that here than in Missouri.

Yup, that's my old press material. I did indeed buy it, in person, from a former VP of RARE, but can assure all there was no game with it, and this dude doesn't own it. Case closed.

Edit: one point to clarify; I gave it to Ian, I didn't sell it to him. Long time friend of mine, I gave it to him as a gift. Not super important, but worth a mention.

Speaking of RARE or other... rare prototypes it's very simple - no video of it running on hardware or at least emulator, released ROM dumps or something else which can prove that prototype really exists = fake.

This is a crock, and honestly I wouldn't believe anything other than a ROM file being sold by a dev.

At this point Rare used two types of flashcarts, one with entirely volatile memory and another requiring a dongle. The first would probably be used in a dev enviroment moreso and no contents are retained as soon as power is cut. The second was for events or other situations where a game was on display; contents are retained, but the cart will not work without the dongle. They've always been a paranoid company.

Any pics of this dongle cart? I keep hearing of it but never seen one.
nintendo did keep final release versions of all rareware carts on your average prototype cart but they are all locked away, I'm just not sure if they kept betas or alphas of 2nd party titles.

Did he confirm this through his twitter? I didn't see anything regarding it in his feed.
