I'm not a fan of J-Pop or J-Rock either. There are songs that I like but they are all at least 10 years old

I'm not sure if you can say that the majority of continent A has generally better taste in music than the majority of continent B. It doesn't seem right... but afterall it's a fact that the majority of whatever country tends to have a shitty taste because they are dumb and lack any demand to what they hear.

Regardless of where I was in Europe within the past few years (like France, Germany, Denmark, England, Ireland), I always disliked the radio. Lady Gaga is one of the worst, followed by Rihanna and the likes. Ever-eh-eh-eh and so on. Incredible, disturbing even. And "Umbrella" won Platinum afaik.

    IMO:
Whole countries don't have any taste at all, it's all shite all the time. :p

I like most 90's pop songs, although there's still plenty of stuff I can't stand. A lot of this love for the 90's probably just amounts to nostalgia.

These days I find myself primarily listening to early 90's shoegaze (Slowdive being my favorite). That probably speaks for itself. There's some good new music that comes out every now and then, but it's from bands I know and they're never on the radio.

One bi-product of most over indulged cultures seems to be that of taking music far to seriously. In the end it's just freakin' music. Particularly in a large concert setting, music is just a form of mass hypnosis. You can almost compare it to one of those faith healer sermons. People just love to find some way to feel superior to one another. It's almost embarrassing how little we've developed from our primate relatives.

The problems is not the music itself, but in which language it's sing, because English is easier and sounds more fluent then the other languages. So that means singing in English can be done by most of the native people. On the other hands if you want to sing in European language you actually have to know how to sing and have to say something with the song as there is more educated people and they want some valuables from the song.

Italian sounds wonderful when sang due to the many vowel sounds at the end of the words.

Hmmm I have not really heard any good music in a long time except with maybe Nephew who is a Danish band. But as GoH mentioned: Does the Europeans have better musical taste ? I honestly do not know, but to be more fair I have 39 tv channels and all of them and most of the time are shitty. Hell even though I have four "music" channels such as two Voice (A Danish radi station) "music" tv channels that runs non stop music which SUCKS ! and then we I have MTV which sucks just as much, then there is Boogie on DR1 which is an hour of music from the lists of music which is horrible too. If I am lucky then VH1 shows some awesome old cool music videos and what not from the 70´s to some more modern , but still good music. And If I am extremely lucky then TV2 Charlie has some great concert recording, and well I do enjoy their rerun of M*A*S*H 4077 that they show 19:30 every night. and TV2 is still (thank goodness for that) only a commercialised tv station where they shows ads between every show and not every 15 minutes. And TV2 is the main name of those stations in that umbrella. But GoH you are babbling about Europeans have good musical taste, well take a look at Schläger music.

Even though there ARE good songs in that genre, then quite a few of those songs in the genre that are horrible.

( a good song I think is that good song, but there are MANY horrible songs in that genre just like in any other genre)

100% BS. Easier, and sounds more fluent? Purely based on opinions. Besides, English is a European language.
