It was one of those "Good in concept, but horrible in execution" sort of thing. It could have had much more potential with a better screen (Colored) and processor. Sadly, the touch screen got in the way. Hell, did anyone even try to get online with it back then?

I actually managed to get online with an original model Game.com, but my method was way different from the intended purpose. I set up a dial-up server in my house that was also an SSH portal, and so from the terminal I could connect securely to a FreeBSD box that was running pine and trn. If I had known about lynx at the time I could have browse the web too with an all-text interface. It wasn't the best connection in the world, but it was small and portable and worked on any phone line. Of course, for $100 and change you can get a handheld that does the same over a WiFi connection. The Game.com network connectivity was definitely not something that the general public would have found useful

I bought Game.com with about 12 games for a whole lot of money years ago thinking games are gonna be really good(remember commercials from 1996/1997, they even were showing Turok in sort of 3d perspective), and I got very dissapointed once I opened every game to discover that these nearly all titles are actually pretty bad.
Resident Evil 2 was quite interesting, Fighters Megamix though...definitely not(every character assortment move consisted of - punch and kick, not the most complex fighting game ever ), but it was interesting to mess with it for awhile.

    I have one. :)

+ Williams Arcade Classics & Mortal Combat cartridges for it. Busted it out for the "rarest thing you own" thread.

It's OK for an obscure handheld. But I would have rather waited and bought a WonderSwan in retrospect.

Castlevania: SOTN actually made it to a semi-programmed state as an early cart was shown off running on hardware.

To date, neither the original cart nor a dump has been found in the hands of collectors. I've been looking for it for quite awhile and I wouldn't be suprised to learn that it simply does not exist any longer.

I had a couple and pretty much all the games at the time - yeah as these guys said absolutely crap which was a shame because there were titles that could have been good!

If I recall rightly there were two different versions, one was quite blocky and the other a bit better designed
