Honestly, I don't know why so many people find Doom 3 scary. It's just a bunch of narrow dark halls with some kiddy voices calling you, some red lights, a few pentagrams and some monster appearing when you open doors.

Doom3 did actually scare me to death a few times, it's just a very creepy setting and monsters pop up right in your face out of nowhere, but after you play it for a while you start to expect it :)

You wussies can d/l a flashlight mod that basically adds a flashlight to your weapon so you don't have to constantly switch.

Granted, it might not look scary looking over a few screenshots... but if you get into the game and play it in a darkened room with nobody else in the house it can get pretty scary. The flashlight thing makes it even better :smt045

What scares me, is how much I would have to spend on PC upgrades just to be able to even see the intro screen...

I have nowhere near the harddrive space to install word, let alone a game that big, and my Voodoo3 2000 wouldnt even register as a graphics card to that game...

Maybe it requires 32 bit color rendering, something the V3's lacked (and were notorious for).

*whispers* and before that Voodoo 3 he had a Riva 128 ;-)

    re

Now that I have a job, a bit of splooging is in order :smt033 . First up, buy a GeForce 6800 and about a gig of RAM. Second, buy the game. Third, beat the game and never use the videocard again (just kidding) :smt082 .

  15. Erm..... are you really about to do a bit of 'splooging' now that you have money, or do you mean 'splurging'? Because splurging is fine, but dammit man, we don't want to hear about your splooging escapades on here, it's just not right, you know!! ;-)

Doom 3 scared me. I was so scared by how long it took them to get the game out and it was still rubbish :smt043

Seriously though, Nope, I was not scared. The beginning bit got my kinda on the edge of my seat......but it lost momentum and just became predictable very fast.
