Most won't. Plus you're going to run into a huge issue with sending payment. You'll need to find a proxy to buy something.

You talk as if it's a web store. It's an auction site just like eBay. Most people on YJ won't ship internationally, but some will IF you can speak Japanese well enough to ask them AND have a way of paying them e.g. a Japanese bank account. There are proxy sites as mentioned - you'll find more on these on the forum if you look around.

Japanese sellers on eBay will probably sell for quite a bit. Don't forget, wherever you buy from, shipping will be VERY expensive. Also, don't forget that surface mail will take months if you try to scrimp on shipping costs. Best bet is to find one in the US.

 

Look into buying an Asian one, might be cheaper and from memory there's only a handful of Japanese games that won't play on it.

Shipping will be the main concern though.

Yep, you'll only save money using Yahoo Auctions if you live in Japan or are buying many things. I do game buying in bulk for many people. These people can make a saving because they buy in bulk but if they just bought one game they'd be better off using Ebay. Then again buying quality items on Ebay isn't easy. Mint on Ebay normally means used with noticable marks or dirt.

 

I have some questions, if i do get an japanese xbox 360 is it possible to change the menu language to english or no?
also, im thinking of getting a xbox 360 from the us and flashing it, can i play japanese games if i flash it?

 

No idea about the flashing thing.

A Japanese 360 can be changed to run in English. No problem there. Mine is in English BUT because I use the Japanese live system there are also quite a few Japanese pages although all system menus will always be in English. If you use the live service from your country then there will be no Japanese at all apart from games which have their achievements written in Japanese.

If you're getting a 360 Unit and live in the states, Play Asia is almost always going to be cheaper. They do high volume and get a break on shipping. Just about any proxy (unless you ship boat) will run you about $120 on top of the cost of the unit for EMS.

 

Do you remember which ntsc-j games are locked to asian ntsc-j console? It's the first time I heard something like this so I'm curious .

Flashing won't make your xbox region free. Getting
Xbox 360 Arcade Slim Console (4GB) for 289$ would be much cheaper than buying through proxy bidder - I was thinking about it few days ago and it's not worth it.

 

I'm afraid it's just something I heard along the way, I don't own an Asian 360 myself. A few games banned for content, maybe?

 

Play Asia should have a list of what is compatible with what.

 

pretty much all asian NTSC games will work with the Japanese 360. Most of my games are Asian if they're not Japanese exclusive titles.

They're a good company. My old launch 360-J unit came from them and i use to buy a lot of stuff off them (don't now since my focus is on arcade games atm).

Doesn't Asia just hijack NTSC-J region code anyways? Games i've gotten for other systems from Asia are all NTSC-J encoded.

 

Yeah, pretty much. As long as it's NTSC it will be the same as the Japanese region code. Actually, PAL or NTSC doesn't make a difference these days when it comes to console games. My Force Unleashed 2 is Asian PAL but works fine on my NTSC-J console.

 

Yes you can change it to english language.

And no just flashing means you can only play backups but it would still be region locked.If you don't care about xbox live than I would suggest a jtag 360 which can play any region game.

I'm planning to get HK X360 from buygame2, but in their terms state something like this:
" We accept paypal payment only if the amount is under US$250. Authorized letter will be requested if payment amount exceed or shipping to non-registered paypal shipping address. "
Do I need to send them authorized letter via standard mail or just plain e-mail will do? It's first time I see something like this... Normally I would pay with my credit card, but I'm not ok with leaving my cc details to some webshop (since I was screwed over, when DVD Crave got hacked...).

 

Just make the order first and they will contact you afterwards. Their entire payment system is through paypal now so they don't store any of your information. As long as your ship to address is confirmed by paypal you should be fine.

That must be a recent rule because I didn't have that one in the past but I also use to order a shit ton from them.

You can always just shoot them off an email and ask. They back to you with in 24 hours (take into account they are based in HK and do most of their emails at the end of the day).
