This happens to me all the time especally when I walk into a Gamestop. You have a huge list of games you want, but at that moment the games on your list are not the games you want so you're there for hours trying to think of what you want. You want a particular Type of game But have all the ones of that type you can think off off the top of your head. Right now for me, My Christmas presents are coming late this year, I'm getting a new TV next month and a PS4 in February In time for Mighty no 9 and Street Fighter V. I am in the meantime looking for something with that special Japanese flavor on PS3 that is a long enough game to keep me busy between now and when I get my PS4. I'm already picking up a 2tb hard drive for my PS4, plus the family Christmas present, but mind is totally blank when it comes to a little somethin somethin for my self. How often does this happen to you guys? And No have no idea what "that Special Japanese Flavor" means other than the game contains some type of house music and is particularly arcadey.
If Yakuza 5 was on disc I'd get it. I supposed I could get 4....or dead souls. The thought did cross me mind, as did Dynasty Warriors Gundam, several Japan exclusive Gundam games, A Kaimen raider game, EX Troopers, The Physical Japan only version of Strider and the Japanese PS3 version of Dragon Quest Heroes. Oh and Sengoku Basara. And do feel free to tell me if this happens to you so we don't have "What game should I get thread #21,630"
This just happened to me too. I have a $25 eBay gift card going unused. Looking for Japanese import games. Super Famicom, PS1, PS2, and Dreamcast. Pick one for me ASSEMbler! @GodofHardcore if you get Project Diva you won't be dissapointed if you like rhythm games. It's one of the best on the system, if not the best.
A good Weeaboo bait JRPG would scratch me where I itch. But Hyperdimention Neptunia MK2 I hear mixed things about. Same with Lost Dimention. Likewise I hear mixed things about Drakenguard 3. There is also my tenancy to never finish RPGs. On that token... Vita TVs are dirt cheap now, I could get one of those and a Used Persona 4 Golden super cheap.
Dreamcast, obviously. Whatever you get depends on your proficiency with the language, but the Darkstalkers game should be less the $25 and is pretty good (it only came West on the PSP, which is ok, I guess). I literally got one today for $5, after a coupon for playing some mobile game for 3 seconds, a gift card for drinking enough Coke, and a reward certificate. Now I just have to get a memory card. OFF TOPIC: Is the Playstation Now service any good? ON TOPIC: I get this all the time. Especially when Gamestop has a buy 2 get 1 free sale or whatever. I'll have 1 or 2 games I definitely super want to get but spend 10 minutes picking out enough for the deal. I even have a list on my Google Sheet, but most of those are stuff GS doesn't stock.
In all fairness if it was 360 I'd probably struggling just as hard. I still have mine, and there are a shit ton of games for it I never bothered with, but it's strictly there for shmupping. 360 did get a lot of JRPGs early on some of which took forever to get on PS3 if at all.... Tempted to look there for my WeebRPG fix.
One game that comes to mind is Catherine. It was popular, so chances are you've already played it, but if not, maybe that will click for you?
I thought about getting one, but the bullshit regarding Vita game compatibility put me off it. Apparently Ys: Memories of Celceta works now, but of course not in Europe.
Yeah, Sony took down their compatibility list, so now I have to go by ones from a year ago comparing the Japanese version and Wikipedia. Funtastic.
Only pre-TV ones, and if you get the box. If you get something like a Gamestop shitty, "we never got the actual packaging so let's print out something with a laserjet printer" case, you get NOTHING
i'm looking for some good recent RPGs (no not goddamn undertale) or some good CD-I games that don't suck
