Re: Full specs Indeed, a friend of mine has an amthlon 64 3200+ with 1024 mb of ram and a 256 mb radeon 9800pro and he can get it up to 1280x1024 running smoothly but even 1600x1200 chokes on his system :Hangman:
I dunno, got it the other night, my Radeon 7500 (i know i know) got maybe .005 frames/sec.. sad Bought a nice Radeon 9200, runs very smoothly @ 1024x768 at HIGH settings (2.5ghz, 768mb ddr) Its an awesome game... i dont know if its just me or are the shadowing on the characters screwey? (like you can see their LEFT side from their right) anyhwo.. ive only gotten to level 2, where ONCE again a portal to HELL somehow opens.. AGAIN.. but its scary.. the lights die out, then things jump out ., gotsa whip out the flashlight to see it, kill the light, switch to the gun awesome game sofar!!
9200 mistype? Did you mistype that you bought a 9200 to play Doom 3 because a 9200 cannot play it at 1024x768 on HIGH settings worth a damn. It's not really worth going all out for since PCI-EXPRESS is looming but if you have a low end card, upgrading to a midrange card would be a good idea.
Well nvidia and iD did announce what some Quake fans remember... SLI support. What that means is that you can have two of the same video cards running in parallel. This only works with PCI-Express cards that recently been coming out and only nVidia cards too.
Okay, so I got Doom3. Graphics look shite on my machien but its within playable range ^_^ The gameplay is boring though...Its like playing Doom1 with fancy graphics and a storyline. Now I'm only a wee bit into the game but already I'm too bored to load it up.
Heh, naah i had a 7500, bought a 9200 (needed it anyways,my 7500 was 3 yrs old :/..paid 40 for it THEN New oem)
