dream cast homebrew in 2017

    Ah i see.

    I recently noticed sketchfab. Lots of quality models to use for tests, and some are even downloadable.

    This talk and multiple other projects have spurred our team to throw our hat in the ring.
    We started coding some junk for the Dreamcast.

    No details yet, nothing announced. Currently our engine handles input and that's it. More info will be posted when we get to rendering stuff to the screen.

    its a learning experience and eventually will ry to use each part of the wince toolkit that we are having trouble with.
    • WinCE based
    • Direct3D
    • Uses CDDA audio
    • (Stretch goal) maybe modem initialization and usage after the rest of the stuff gets worked out.
    • Support for hot switching controllers, and rumble pak.
    Dont expect the next quake 3 but instead think simpler like a remake of a shit phone game.

    Nice! But that last thing concerns me.

    Do you mean like hot swapping or plugging them in and unplugging when the console is on? Imho that isn't a good idea if that is what you mean. Dreamcast controller ports are notoriously bad for blowing resistors if the system is on and you are plugging in and unplugging devices to those ports. Just an FYI if you weren't aware yet. ;)
