Hey folks!! Happy new year to all of ya!

I found this thread at 'El Otro Lado.net' forums with this list of DC unreleased games with the status of each one:

    http://www.elotrolado.net/hilo_juegos-unreleased-en-dc_1763844

The thread is dated at 2012, but the list is posted from other english languaje site which i don´t know (maybe it´s from here...you guys have more information than me), and i suposse that this list was made more than 10 years before.

There are games that finally got leaked like Half Life, Flinstones, Geist Force, Propeller Arena or Hellgate. But Ironically, there´s no info about the recently released Toejam and Earl 3 (thanks a million Zakhoot).

But my point is...what do you think of that list...do you think that the information is real?

And...what game of this list do you think that may be the next that got leaked and released for all of us?

I´d die to play on my DC Collin Mc Rae 2.0, Agartha, Soul Reaver 2, Midnight GT, Max Payne, Baldur´s Gate, Gunvalkirye, Castlevania, Black and White and other that is not on the list but i think that it would exist in playable form too: Sega WorldWide Soccer 2001 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36MawmpY8pA)

    Cheers from Colombia!!!

Here is my list that I have put a good amount of research into.
    http://dreamcast-talk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4195

There are plenty of titles that were announced for DC, but I've really tried to limit my list to titles that have some significant evidence of having actually been in development for the dreamcast - such as demos that were played by or demonstrated to game media at the time. This cuts out a lot of titles.

I know for a fact that there is playable code of the following:

Colin McCrae 2.0 - played an extremely early version of this on DC back in the day. May have just been a single track.

Take the Bullet - again played an early build of this. Think it was just the first level, set in a warehouse, enemies to shoot with the light gun, could move around with the d-pad and could interact with the environment e.g. Shoot a role to release a ladder etc

Unfortunately I am no longer in contact with the guy who had these but I know they are out there.

Checking YouTube (and knowing what other people have posted here) then there is playable code (of some description) of:

Ecco 2 (believe this consisted of 5 levels)
Test Drive Cycles (could drive around but very barren)
    Might and Magic 3

What's our view on Soul Reaver 2? Out there somewhere or just proposed for DC?

Did Sega Worldwide Soccer 2001 not get a release as UEFA Dream Soccer? Looks similar and was by Silicon Dreams and also had female players.

    From your list:

Heroes of Might and Magic 3
    Test Drive Cycles
    Worms Pinball
    Take the Bullet

    - All four of those titles have been leaked and 100% exist on GD-Rom - With the exception of 'Take the Bullet' they've also all been sold (at various points in time) on these very forums. 'Test Drive Cycles' has been up for sale here at least twice, ditto 'Worms Pinball' has also appeared at least twice on these forums.

'Take the Bullet' - a guy over at the now defunct DreamcastHistory forums had a copy and posted loads of pictures of the game up and running. It's 100% out there - but only in proto collectors hands. I believe the game was complete.

Grey Fox : I had no idea 'Colin McCrae 2.0' was running on the DC - where did you play this extremely early version?

Files for the unreleased 'Actua Soccer' were located on a devkit owned by user Legit - but I really don't think he likes to talk about it (and probably junked the files) Either way, it was never up and running, it was just raw code that needed a lot of work. Legit also owned the GD-Rom of 'Heroes of Might and Magic 3' and sold it in the forums here to a Russian guy (Basil/Vasily) in the DC warez scene. Basil said he'd release it eventually, but that was about 5 years ago... so... um... it may not be worth holding out breath for that one :) Basil also has the 'Test Drive Cycles' disc.

None of those lists mention 'Far Nation' which was spotted in the Sega USA archives photo - not even the guys who worked there (DonnyK and the other guy who release the working copy of 'Geist Force' knew anything about it) which means either the photo is fake - or it's a project they never had any contact with. Either way, if the photo is legit, then 'Far Nation' is one of the biggest mysteries out there (for me) - Along with valid proof of a working copy of 'Dee Dee Planet' which nobody appears to have seen since it's initial planned launch (Yakumo saw a kiosk with it running, and there are photos of the kiosk, if I'm not mistaken) But nobody has ever come up with proof of a copy outside of Sega Japan's offices since those early days.

Yep, I did see Dee Dee Planet running in a kiosk, that is true but I can't say if it was a full game, rolling demo or video since there was no controller to interact with the game.

Breaking down your list a bit more:

Dreamcast games that exist in GD-R, Silver or White Label form:

[No proof of its existence - in fact I think this one in particular definitely doesn't exist] Arcade 3-in-1 (Jambo Safari/Brave Firefighter/Emerg.Ambulance)
[No proof of its existence - just early photos and promo material] Black & White
[No proof of its existence - just early photos & video which is probably a devkit, not on disc] Castlevania (80% complete, 3 levels)
[No proof of its existence - if any copies exist, they're in Sega Japan's offices] Dee Dee Planet (a demo was released)
[No idea to be honest] ECW Rulez [USA] (pre-release)
    - Flintstones: Viva Rock Vegas (pre-release)
[No proof of its existence - just early photos - simply 'saying it exists' doesn't count] Gunvalkrie
    - Half-Life + Blue Shift (pre-release)
    - Half Life ?Demo? White Label (pre-release)
    - Heroes of Might and Magic III (pre-release)
[No proof of its existence] Innocent Tears
    - Internet Game Pack
    - M.S.R. [Japan]
[Was never intended to be released on the DC, it just happens to run on DC hardware] NFL Blitz '99
[No proof of its existence - just early photos and promo material] Planet of the Apes
    - PBA Bowling 2001 (pre-release)
    - Propeller Arena (pre-release)
    - Quake III Arena [Japan] (pre-release)
[No proof of its existence - just early photos] Striker
    - Take the Bullet (45% complete)
    - Test Drive Cycles (early beta)
[No proof of its existence - just early photos] Tony Hawk 3
    - Worms pinball (?beta?, sold years ago on Ebay)
    - There was given away Genesis emulator [Japan]

When I say 'no proof of its existence' I mean nobody has ever come forward with GD-Roms of any of those games you say exist on disc. They've never been sold in public, nobody has come forward claiming to own a copy, etc..

I'd like to know where you got the info that those games exist on GD-Roms? (as I'm sure a lot of other people would also like to know!)

To be fair, with 'Toejam and Earl 3' popping up completely out of the blue, I wouldn't rule anything out - but I'm skeptical until concrete proof actually surfaces for any of those titles I highlighted above. Like I said, just 'saying' you know it exists really doesn't count. I could tell you I've got a beta of Shenmue 3 on a dusty old CDR... doesn't make it true.

Gun Valkrie and Innocent Tears both do exist in playable form for sure but if they are on disc or not is another matter. I posted pictures and videos of Innocent Tears actually running years ago.

The "Genesis" emulator was given away for free in Japan. Both a Mega Drive and PC Engine emulator can be found on the Dream passport 3 disc.

Dee Dee Planet exists on a disc and was playable. I played it when I worked at Sega Europe. It was shown behind doors at the E3 show and when my boss at the time returned to the office he had a copy of every title that was shown that year. My impression of the game was the tanks were too big and moved too slowly, we then decided we just wanted to play Death Tanks instead and we had a version of the game on Saturn that was just stand alone on a disc so it booted up right away, took us ages to locate enough controller and multitaps though!

Anyway I know just my word isn't enough to prove DDP is available on disc.

I guess I'll be holding my breath for a while, because I'd LOVE to see Heroes of Might and Magic III finally get released. I played it on the computer all the time as a kid, and just knowing that a version of the game exists 100% complete on one of my favorite systems... I'll probably asphyxiate before it ever gets released, but gosh-darn-it, that'd be super.

The problem with that game was the save file was too big for a standard VMU and they were working on getting running on the higher capacity one but the paging system that used caused problems. I don't know if they ever solved it or just shelved the game when the Dreamcast was discontinued.

    Thanks for the updates!

I guess that's one more step closer to 'Dee Dee Planet' on disc - but why no copies since? It's in Sega USA's offices, it was in Sega Europe's offices... obviously it was in the Japan offices.

Still no leak, after all these years.

As for the other two - It's still impossible to confirm if they've ever been burnt to disc. They're really in the same boat as 'Black and White', 'Planet of the Apes' and 'Castelvania' - we know they were up and running on hardware, but we don't know if they were just promo reels designed to drum up interest - and then canned. Or, like 'Toe Jam...' they went quite far into development and then got the axe.

Still, no discs have ever appeared to my knowledge.

Wasn't GTA 3 in development for the Dreamcast?

I remember Legit's posts (I think it was him) saying it just took an eternity to load, far longer than a 'normal' game. But it's also possible he had an early beta and later revisions fixed that.

Dreamcastmaster - do you have any leads/info on these unreleased titles - I guess I mean any old contacts who might help locate copies of these games?

Or also confirm if any of these games were on disc, or just running on devkits?

Most likely not, because Rockstar Games was having some contract about early release for PlayStation 2 with Sony, i think.

There were always rumors of GTA on the DC, but no one ever provided evidence beyond what was I think a small blurb in the Official DC Magazine.

Definitely not, I worked for Take 2 before Sega so I knew in advance what was scheduled for the Dreamcast long before those titles were made public. It was never on the schedule, where as GTA 2 was on there long before.

Gunvalkyrie was confirmed by the developers themselves to be up and running on the dreamcast using windows ce which made it eaier to port to xbox. So it wasnt just a reel for that specific game. Was it it ever in disc form? Most likely not, seems like they never got past that 1 level they showed before porting the dreamcast version to xbox then completely revamping the game all together to make the version we got.Whether its 1 or 10 levels it existed in playable form.
