I had no idea MGS4 was on Dreamcast... 2 Dreamcast!? LOL! What, you playing with the games bios screen or sum shit? What games have you played son? I'm very interested in what has led you to such an opinion on the system.
Probably some 3rd party shite. I love the dreamcast and all but the Dreamcast is in 2 extremes, AMAZING GAMES and games so bad you wonder why people love the system to begin with.
Telling you to not make multiple posts one after the other, and then continuing to do it is also rude. Some people come here, post like that to get to 50 posts. How could I not think that? Regardless, you're being overly sensitive over me telling you to edit your posts. If you want to crack the shits at me for telling how to use the forum properly, be my guest. FYI, it WAS putting you into line, into line of the rules. Stop making me out to be a rude user here. Many people here know me on the forum and you're just cracking the shits because I told you to follow a simple rule. You can have a discussion, along with following the damn rules. You can't just do what you bloody please. There's a reason for rules in the god damn first place, everyone has to follow them. Suit yourself then, I tried to tell you to do the right thing and you're creating an argument over nothing.
And you're continuing that argument. Technically I believe you should be contacting a mod, flagging the post, if you have a problem with it and then if -they- deem necessary to take action, they will. If you want to "put someone in line" do it somewhere other than inside the thread. Heck, send them a friendly PM and be courteous and patient with them. You've got to give people the benefit of doubt, especially when they're new. If they're actually malicious they will show it continuously and proper action will be taken (Remember Kiwi?). ---- I got my first DC from a guy in Seattle. I was 12 and met him on Switchouse, ended up trading my GBC and almost all my games along with some other stuff for a DC, two controllers, VMU (and a 3rd party card), and a whole stack of games including some of the great ones like SoulCalibur, HotD2, etc. It was my first non-handheld system (excluding handhelds) that I didn't have to share with my older brother. Then I bought another at a yard sale in a box of video game junk for $10 (also in the box was an NES2...!) my third from who-knows-where, my fourth from a yard sale for 50c... Now I have a crapload of games. Definitely a favorite system of mine.
It was never an argument to begin with... Why bother with a mod when I simply asked why he's been posting each response separately? You know what, forget it. I won't bother looking out for any body then. EDIT: @ EducatedFoetus I'm sorry if I came off rude, I'm just trying to save you from a ban.
Yeah, I was lucky enough to get one off of racketboy, before they went up in price. It's not the official box, but the picture is virtually perfect. No complaints there.
I got the cheaper model from Racketboy (the "dongle" looking one). Works fine, except the cord is faulty, if you curl it just right it cuts out a color. Certainly looks just fine to me! I need to bust it out again. Wish I had bought the more expensive model now (clone of the official?) though, since it has RCA jacks and such instead of just a headphone jack for audio.
Fair enough. Apology accepted. Just talk friendlier next time and i would not have had an issue with being told the correct way to do things. This is what i'm afraid of; build quality on most is pants at best, IF they work :/ I just recently bought an unofficial one from eGay, didn't work with any of the tv's in my house. Only a crappy 16 inch monitor :/ Has sort of put me in a cautious stance with 3rd party stuff tbh :S I think that pretty much sums up my attitude towards the DC haha! Now, all we need is a Roosevelt quote... And in terms of games... The DC had some AMAZING games. Defo not overated imo. The Sonic Adventures especially (no.2's multiplayer was particularly awesome)! And Toy Commander! THAT was a game and a half And not all the 3rd party stuff was crap. I loved a game called Millenium Soldier Expendable. 3rd party, but brilliant. Probably one of my all time favourite DC games. How is blasting the crap outta hundreds of alien scum not awesome??? This had awesome co-op as well! AND, an awesome soundtrack ;D (P.S. You can shoot faster than that by mashing the A button) The House of The Dead 2 was always my favourite arcade game! My DC disc however is sadly scratched beyond repair (blame that on total disregard for looking after my things when i was much younger). And Soul Calibur... That damn Edge Master! EDIT: On that quote... How about... "The only thing to fear is what Nintendon't..." Needs work
I bought my first Dreamcast in 2001, it was around $130 second hand. The next day I bought Code Veronica and that lasted me for a while. The only reason why I bought the system was RE and Sonic Adventure. I was disappointed with the first Sonic, but the second one I liked mostly.. The emulation was also a big thing back then, used to frequent dcemulation website hoping for a new version of DreamSnes that would be full speed NesterDC was amazing Took me a long time to learn how to selfboot emulators, games, vcd movies. Used chat (Planet Web) Played Soul Calibur -wow, Grandia 2, Skies of Arcadia, lots of other fighting games. Overall a great experience and an awesome console. I own two consoles now, a VGA box, not that many games unfortunately, just couldn't afford them at the time
Uh huh! I got my Dreamcast back in 2006, worked a game store for a few weeks for experience. I was looking for a Dreamcast for months, I was around 16 at the time and I couldn't use eBay, so local was my only option. Come back a few days later, and there was one in the store - boxed and complete. The system was basically like new, straight from the US. The Dreamcast has so many titles I enjoy: Daytona 2001, Vigilante 8 2nd Offense, Fighting Vipers 2, Dead or Alive 2, and so on. I started to try out a lot of games, and a few homebrew stuff. It's a great system and I so wish it was around the whole previous generation.
@Pikmin Code Veronica was immense! Love that game :') Apart from Steve maybe though... And ofc SA! Never tried the emulation route though. I was too young to understand such things; if only i had known! Is NesterDC worth it? @HEX1GON Awesome! That's a pretty special story. I love it when you just get totally enthralled like that! Rarely happens nowadays! I first got my Dreamcast when i was at the tender age of 10 (i'm 21 now) back in 2001, christmas i believe. And all i remember was how amazingly beautiful Sonic Adventure was. Pure bliss. And THOTD 2, wow. I don't think i've ever enjoyed a console to start so much in my life. And to help, a friend of mine who lived 2 minutes down the road also got one that very same xmas. Swapping games, beating times etc... Loved it all. Even a spot of Sega bass fishing ;D nice little controller for that! When the PS2 came along, i did also give that equal love. More so when when Sega dropped the DC However i continued playing the DC, especially SA 2 with my younger sister, along with favs like the one's mentioned above and the likes of Virtua Tennis, Crazy Taxi, Wacky Races. And now over the past few years i've been getting into all the old systems once more, to now becoming an admiring collector
I have never ever played any Dreamcast:concern: I have a NES, SNES, N64, Wii, Gamecube, Master System, Genesis, PC-Engine Duo-R, PS1-3. But I'm ashamed to admit that I have never owned nor played Saturn nor Dreamcast for some reason. Which one would you recommend to get first? I'm really interested in both consoles.
Not really worth bothering with nowadays except as a curiosity, there's better alternatives for console NES emulation (softmodded Wii, for example).
I bought my dreamcast on the release day and 6 months ago I bought a second one a pink Hello Kitty edition. I still have the first I bought with the games and all will die with me. I love that console.
I will say that NesterDC does work well for the Dreamcast and the save feature to the VMU is nice. The gameboy emulator loaded with games is good too. Also, the Sega Genesis emulator is top notch while the Super Nintendo emulator is slow with many of the more intensive games but a few run smoothly. I don't have a wii, but will be getting one soon from a friend built with an external harddrive so I will check out the NES emulator.
Got my dreamcast the day code Veronica came out, if memory serves me correctly I paid £230 for the console vmu code Veronica and a keyboard. I got jet set radio jap import and Ferrari F355 then weeks before ps2 came out I sold it all for £350, then in 2006 I bought another dreamcast from a friend with 20 games for £50 and I still play it every so often for a blast of nostalgia.
