Dreamcast: Donate or sell?

Discussion in 'The ASSEMblergames Marketplace' started by Benedict_Arnold, Apr 9, 2006.

  1. I have a DC with keyboard and controller and stuff. I was wondering how much it would go for with the following items. If it's not worth much, I would end up donating it. Can someone help me decide to sell or donate? (FYI, I would donate it to the Salvation Army for a tax deduction, I wouldn't consider donating it to an unregistered not-for-profit organization)

    DC, Keyboard, Controller
    NFL 2K complete
    Alone in the Dark complete
    Draconus complete
NBA Hoopz brand new factory sealed
    D-2 complete

Plus 8 Official DC Mag discs and 9 different Official DC Magazines. (I don't know why it seems one is missing a disc. Maybe the last issue didn't have a disc?)

    Thanks for your help.

the keyboard can be found brand new for relatively cheap. I have three brand new keyboards i got at a very sexy price.

  3. That's why I either sell everything in a bundle or donate it all in a bundle. I figured the keyboard isn't worth anything. How much, if anything, is the whole bundle worth if I were to sell it?

well dreamcasts are about 12-15 dollars right now with 1 controller and all cords.

Extra controllers are about 3 bucks each. Keyboards and almost worthless.

There are a couple decent games in there I think the best being D2.

I would say maybe 20-25 tops, 30 if you get lucky. I think ebay would be your best bet though. Look on there for similer deals to yours and see what they go for.

nah, you'll get more than 50 for that on ebay.

  7. If I can get $30 or more, I will try on ebay. I'll give the buyer the option of taking the keyboard (save shipping if he doesn't want it). It's an NTSC console but it plays CD-Rs...don't they all??

Thanks for your responses so far.

Nope, not all of them do. Only those made before October of 2000 or some similar date do, though all PAL consoles do

I second that. I have two late systems (Dec 2000 and January 2001), both do data/data perfectly fine. The only (supposedely) unbootable consoles are post-mortem Japan only R7, due to changed firmware.

And to original poster: I'm sure you'll make your 30$ off eBay. There is still a lot of interest in DC.

There's an extremely small number of consoles that don't play CDrs. I think R7's do play them, actually (but don't hold me to that).

I'm afraid my R7 does not play CDr. But maybe there are multiple types of R7, I don't know. Mine just boots to the Sega screen and then returns to the system menu - ie, you get no error messages.

  13. The one I have is made on July 2000 so it should be fine. I'll put on ebay probably tonight. Thank you everyone who responded.

Oh, please make sure to mention in first sentence that it's clean, like-new, adult-owned and used only few times. I know I'm a sucker for such salesperson lingo :)
