According to an MS insider there will be over 50 Sega Dreamcast games on the Xbox Live Arcade within 2 years. Launched a handfull at a time, and the first game will be Bonks adventure, which should be out in September 2006. Every Dreamcast game released on 360 will be priced at around 10 dollars. Not a bad price I think. As long as it's not ChuChu Rocket. http://www.xbox360news.com/Blogs/News/hqs/blr_1790.aspx
Hey, if they released an online ChuChu Rocket on any console, it guarantees a sale with me. That was one of the best DC experiences I had.
So actually you're not paying 10 dollar a game, but hundreds of dollars for different HDD's with a crappy capacity.
oh please stop it...too many good news on X360, i don't want to buy one!!! but i see myself playing with one in about 6 months
I've heard too many "too good to be true" rumors for the XBOX 360 already! :110: XBOX Live is for online multiplayer options, am I not right? We might be seeing more old Dreamcast multiplayer games then: Power Stone, Rush 2049.
The DC never had a version of Bonk's adventure that I'm aware of - I'd be suspicious if the source says this is the first DC game.
Hmmm... Very true. But the DC games do seem to be a good, logical idea. I imagine most DC games are around 400Mb. Although, I can think of nothing better than a HD, FSAA, Anostrophic Shenmue remake. I'd buy a 360 in about 0.3 seconds. Or Rush 2049. Man, that'd be da shizzle. The new LA Rush is such a terrible game I can't even begin to tell you...
exactly what i thought. i'd wait for a confirmation from a more serious and viable source before jumping to the conclusions. Btw, This rumor is from a xbox 360 fan site that claims this is coming from an insider from microsoft. I couldnt retrace the site it came from, but i guess we can just forget it. It's because the idea is doable that it is true. Just like genesis games on revolution. around 600-900 without modifications, but i can be higher, or lower, like on any other machine. And chuchu rocket on live would be a blast.
Not to detract, but a current console relying on games from an old console as news... Strikes me as a step in the wrong direction from a business point of view. It waters down the brand. Basically we now have "Dreamcast 360"
I don't see your point. Sony selling N64 games sounds fine to me. 5 years ago, perhaps not, but now Sega are dead and Nintendo are so far out of the mainstream they don't even compete. We live in different times. Original titles don't sell machines, big names do.
You know, I don't know what is going on with people going nuts on the board. I tried to delete posts here and salvage this thread, so if something you posted is gone I am sorry, but no precise editing on this one. I mean, everyone has a free will and point of view. I don't know if it's getting to the point where I can't even post anymore. Some people seem to have animosity that I don't understand. Anyway, please keep the thread on topic...
To be able to legaly sell n64 game roms to run on a sony machine, they would need to get the rights to make an emulator of the n64's hardware, and only nintendo can give this right, so it will never ever happen .
I know a lot of people are looking at this current trend as cheapening or perhaps exploiting games from the past, like you spend all this money to get this high tech hardware just to play (and re-buy) a game that came out years ago, but personally I think it's a step in the right direction for console gaming in general. Kinda like music downloads, makes the whole process easier. It would be sad though if in the next generation all games were purchased in this way, that would take the "collect" out of collecting.
The original article never said that Bonk's Adventure was a DC game. I'm not sure where anyone got that idea. -hl718
