Just made the payment for a lot of 21 games from a very nice seller at a different forum.

Here's the list, all of them complete:

Midway Arcade Greatest Hits Volume 2
Evil Dead Hail to the King
    Dead or Alive 2
    Tomb Raider the Last Revelation
Sword of the Berserk guts Rage
    House of the Dead 2
    Aerowings
    Quake 3 Arena
    Crazy Taxi 2
    Maken X
    Sonic Shuffle
    Soul Calibur
    Wacky Races
    Space Channel 5
    Phantasy Star Online
    Shenmue
    ChuChu rocket
    Space Channel 5 Japanese
    Dynamite Cop
    Gauntlet Legends

Pretty nice, huh? This is a nice start for my collection, I'll try to get Sonic Adventures 1 and 2 here in Brazil.

that's a pretty nice list. There is nothing unusually rare, but there are a lot of quality games that represent the DC pretty well. Obviously Shenmue is a title that you wanted, Soul Calibur and Dead or Alive are among the very best 3d fighting games on the system. Chu Chu Rocket is a really good game that is fairly timeless for what it is. There are lots of excellent multiplayer games in this list - hope you find people to play the games with :friendly_wink:

I need to call someone to drag a lan cable to my gaming room. My old consoles up to PS2/xbox are in a different room.
OBS: it's not lazyness or lack of knowledge about building a lan cable is that the part above the ceiling and the roof is just extremely difficult to reach and pass a cable there.

I didn't knew it was still possible to play online games with the dreamcast. Was voice communication ever possible on the Dreamcast?

Yes, Alien Front Online had voice communication with the other players online. The servers are no longer up for it so it is impossible to play online now though. Propeller Arena was also going to have voice communication, but that game was canceled and is also unsupported for online play. Seaman had "voice communication" in that the point of the game was to talk to your fish guy via the dreamcast microphone, and you talking was the main interaction for the game, although it wasn't voice chat in the sense of talking to other players.

All the rest of the online games only used the DC keyboard to chat.

That seaman seems to be the most bizarre game ever made.

Is it possible to set alternative servers to keep playing those old games online?

Great idea veggav, you sure will have some fun. :)

Dreamcast is one of my favorite consoles. Finished most classic titles when it was launched and played some of them "odd titles" last year. I also bought a mouse and a keyboard - it makes Half Life a really good experience.

You could blog about your new gaming experiences too. That would bring commenters, and probably "satisfy" your wish to be talk about what you play.

I've got friend who's into old gaming now. She just finished her first FF title, and I watched her beating the last boss while we were using TeamViewer. It was fun!

There is an alternate PSO server that was set up, but many of the older games including Alien Front Online, Outtrigger, Chu Chu Rocket, Propeller Arena, and Daytona USA are virtually impossible to set up alternate servers because no one knows how to recreate the server side software for these games, so they are probably offline for good. Several other games had their servers hosted by places other than Sega, and many of these are still up and you can log in and play online theoretically if there are other people ;) These games are Star Lancer, Quake 3, 4X4 Evolution, and Maximum Pool. There might be one or two others I'm not remembering.

You need to get Bangai-O, it's one of my favorite DC games and IMO better than the sequels Spirits and Missile Fury.

My games got posted today, the seller is amazing took a lot of care with the package.

This guy is just awesome, I finally found someone that goes to flea markets, garage sales in the US and are whiling to sell for the same price he bought the games.
Some DC games can be found for $1 or so.
If everything goes well I'll be improving my collection fast.

I'm about to get a VM0 DC too. My DC is PAL-M and my TV can only take S-video if it's NTSC. So the new DC I'm getting, modded with region free bios will make my july vacation a lot of fun!
