Do these tools work for Shenmue chapter 1 as well? an undub version of chapter 1 would be awesome

 

They are for the first Shenmue game.

As soon as I free up some space on my HDD Ill check these tools out and see if its feasible to make a Shenmue chapter 1 undub.

IN THEORY should be as easy as swapping the audio files in the PAL/US version for the JPN ones or swapping the subs in the JPN version for the PAL/US ones

 

I don't really get what you want to do, but if you want jap voices with english subs, then the easiest way to do it would be to replace de voice files (I suppose it'll be ahx files) for the ones from the jap version. This way the text will all be in english, and the sound will be JAP.

Those tools will allow you to do this.
