Dreamcast VGA box & Scanline generator

More bad news for me besides the broken faceplate. I hooked up the Hanzo, and the output seems to have lost red in colour. I have tried a few games, but everything seems to look like it has a greenish tint, and any red shows up as black. not only that, but everything seems to look a bit darker than usual.

I have tried a different vga cable just to make sure it wasn't a problem, but it's still doesn't show up any red colour either.

I also checked to make sure the dreamcast wasn't the culprit, with a spare vga box. That seems to work fine.

 

I would like to order 1 clear Hanzo shipped to Maryland.

I am doing some improvements on the cable, the connector I used seems to be an inferior one, now I purchased better quality ones which will eliminate this kind of audio/video problems and make it more durable and stronger.

All defective units are replaced with the new updated ones. Please return the unit if you notice any problems, I will send a new one free of charge.

I also decided to ship it in a box instead of an envelope. I hope it will also prevent it being damaged while in transit.

Just a few notes

On my Samsung LCD the image shifts to the left (or was it right?!) when the DC is in VGA mode, it doesn’t do this on my PC Monitor or on a mate Hanspree TV (I have since found out it does this with a VGA box too, so it’s the TV rather than this mod). I think it would be possible to do with without a switch by utilising the ground points on the VGA socket and linking them up to AV pins 6 and 7 (instead of linking the VGA ground pins together).

Got my Hanzo in the mail today! Man, this thing is worth it's money. Thanks man! Though a few things;

1. You should send these things in boxes. The envelope was pretty torn up. Also, the Hanzo box itself was a bit crooked. Not that bad, but i could have been avoided with just a box.
2. The resistors inside the box are a bit 'off' to the side. It doesn't affect anything, but i reckon they should stand straight.

None the less; this was a great investment. I have it hooked up with RCA cables to my active speakers for that kick ass sound. Thanks bro!

Is it possible to use the scan line generator with other systems?

 

Id suggest you not open other electronics around your house. Only reason this is an "issue" is because the hanzo is transparent.

 

Probably with a VGA pigtail cable but I haven't tested it yet.
But there is a standalone Scanliner that I'm selling, check the first post...
