I tried, but din't find a matrix hack

For Speed devils I've only found a zoom modifier.

For Skies of Arcadia NTSC-U I'll put it on my "to do list" it is definetly possible, about Rez... I've spent literally hours without succes, and it drives me crazy since the Ps2 version is so simple to hack.

Would anyone be willing to give Elemental Gimmick Gear a try for some widescreen?

Afaik this is the only Dreamcast game that actually uses bloom and blur...anyway using the widescreen hack don't seem to break the effects.

Wow, thank you so much for the Skies of Arcadia NTSC-U code.

I noticed you also have a Gauntlet Legends widescreen + render fix, and Dynamite Cop...could you make an NTSC-U version of these codes as well?

Also, what about Rez makes it tougher to make widescreen?

Once again, thank you and awesome work!

@Espirral, your F355 camera work is pretty amazing.

When I was testing Tennis 2K2, I noticed the widescreen code pretty much only reveals the sidelines and stands. Do you think a vertical/Portrait camera would be possible, slightly more overhead to reduce foreshortening of the tennis court?

There would have to be 2 versions for people that have monitors or TVs that only rotate one direction for portrait mode.

Wish I had a clue on this stuff so I could be a Dreamcast hero too lol. I think the idea could evolutionize some games.

I am impressed by all the work being done here! I am working on a project that will use all those codes but I need a bit more information about the titles being patched. Would it be possible in the master list (http://segaretro.org/List_of_Dreamcast_widescreen_codes) to add for each game, the title name, product number and version as it is written in the boot sector (ip.bin)? I know its a lot of work but maybe we can all pitch in and split the task.

Anyway thank you for doing all this!

@japanese_cake If I understood it correctly the information you need would be this?

    Example.

    Skies of Arcadia v1.002 (2000)(Sega)(NTSC)(US)(Disc 1 of 2)
    GD-ROM1/2 U 0799A10 MK-51052 V1.00220001010 1ST_READ.BIN SEGA ENTERPRISESSKIES OF ARCADIA DISC 1

Thanks! More precisely, for this example, it would be:
    Skies of Arcadia, U, MK-51052, V1.002

The thing is I would to be able to identify uniquely a game. Several games, beside their different builds for each region, can have multiple revisions on the same territory. I believe the tuple (product ID, product version), (MK-51052, V1.002) in this example, is enough to identify a disc. And in our case, the title name and its region are information relevant to the player/enduser.

Also, AFAIK, when games are split on two or more discs, the 1ST_READ.BIN file remains the same (I noticed that with Skies Of Arcadia and Resident Evil CV - it is worth a try with Shenmue 1 & 2). Does someone have a counter example?

Are these codes basically doing what the "extra geom" option on NullDC does?

Wouldn't the widescreen code be the same for both discs? If the 1ST_READ.BINs are the same, then both discs would be running the same (main) binary.

Not exactly. this is Anamorphic widescreen, and Esppiral even zooms the camera out some on many games he hacks to remove the glitches that one would normally get with extra geometry enabled in NullDC.

    Better explanation here.
