Hi, and thanks for all you guys do for the Dreamcast. I'm no programmer, but I had come across this person's Dreamcast programming page way back when, shortly after the DC was discontinued. This page describes the Power VR ramdac address space. There are address that set the border width and outermost size, color, etc. There are also some for the video that should be rendered, number of lines, pixels per line, etc.

Since these have set addresses, wouldn't it be possible to change the values just like with widescreen codes (without hunting for the right offset)? You might be able to eliminate or reduce the border to 1 pixel, and expand the render area. Whether this will work with retail games is the question.

I'm sure everyone has already thought of this, but I just have to check. Here is the page:

Guys are you still using the old demul build to debug the games or did you get anything better?

 

WOW Zero Gunner 2 definitely benefits from 16:9, it looks absolutely stunning this way!

Wow, Zero Gunner 2 is my favorite Shmup of all time, so really it looks so amazing seeing it in true widescreen!

And also since you said you can do requests, I don't know if I asked you before Esspiral, but would Vigilante 8 NTSC-U be possible? I recall you might have said something about PSX ports being difficult or something, but that has been a while ago, so not sure if any new developments have been made.

 

I don't think anyone actually uses the debugger build, at least not very often. Many of the codes can be found just by searching for commonly used values.

To answer your question though, that's still the most recent debugger build. My issue logged with the developer never got a response and it's been almost 2 years now:

There are other emulators in development, I think one of those will probably have a debugger some day.

Don't they work on codebreaker? Many codes are interchangeable.

 

Most of these hex pathces havetheir AR code equivalent posted in this thread already.

The hex codes are not interchangeble with the AR codes, completely different methods.
