I know this should be inside the ebay thread but I think this really needs its own thread considering how rare this is and the limited amount of pictures even. The seller wants a huge 10,000 which I'm sure no one will end up paying that kind of price but at least we know one still exists. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250163670619#description
ah, nice! i m a huge fan of any console's Disk Drive add-on it would be cool to see this add-on+karaoke attached at the same time
Ah! Was just about to post this after seeing it on Gamesniped, hehehe. Yeah, it does look really neat... but for that price, you'd have to be a super crazy/rich Dreamcast fan...
I totally want this (of course); but alas, I haven't that much money... Someone here should really get it, I'd hate to see this get stuffed away somewhere and never shown off or used...
I'm a sucker for anything that adds two inches to my (insert console name here) but at that price it would have to add feet. Here's hoping that if it sells it gets the exposure it certainly deserves. /drifts off thinking of this setup + Samba De Amigo with edit mode...
Group bid? $10000 / 1479 members = $6.76 each! ;-) But who gets custody at weekends? Yeah, this would be a great item to preserve & document, but $10000.... owchie...
Was goint to post it as well. http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/13/ebay-auction-reveals-prototype-dreamcast-zip-drive/
I was more shocked to learn that Iomega is still manufacturing and selling Zip Drives. What possible use could they be to anyone nowadays? High speed LAN and Internet connections, USB thumb drives, as well as DVD-R and CD-R mass availability have made them obsolete, haven't they?
Is there any software that would actually work with this, or is it just a really expensive conversation piece?
yeah..was this originally made for development environment only or really planed for the market? maybe only a prirate station like we know them well from the 8/16bit age ;-) :joke:
Maybe if I sold it in the UK but as for selling it in Japan I'd only get about 6000 pounds for it Still, I might buy a new one after Christmas if I can pay my 230'000 yen dept (unlikely though :crying: ) That would still be very cool! Yakumo
