Well today the launch list was unvailed for the U.S release, take a look The first-party offerings for the system's launch will include Super Mario 64 DS, a translation of the Nintendo 64 classic; a playable demo of the upcoming Metroid game, Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt; and PictoChat, which will be built into the DS and will let users compose text messages or hand-drawn pictures and send them wirelessly to up to 15 other nearby Nintendo DS users. Looking further ahead, there will be a number of first-party DS-exclusive games hitting the system, including a multiplayer-enabled Mario Kart game, the full version of Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt, WarioWare Inc. And to answer your question greatsaintlouis, mario 64 ds will have the orignal mario 64, but will play with different characters as well.
it can make you move two axis with the control pad and the stylus , like metroid: hunters, by exemple. it can make RTS games more playable on a video game console , changing the mouse by the stylus. among other exemple... that's a good idea , imo.
Still not happy Nintendo have gone and used a D-pad though. Now, if the DS had a NeoPocket style joystick, I'd be very happy. Especially if they'd come up with a stick that could function as both analogue or digital and a way of the software telling the joystick to switch between digital or analogue mode. Then the j/s could function in analogue mode for Mario64*4 etc, and as a digital stick for, say, Pokemon or whatever. I can't imagine playing Mario64 with a D-pad. Or the inevitable conversions of Zelda:OoT/MM that'll grace the DS. Oh, and Metriod too; in fact any of the 3D games. And seeing as it was Nintendo who 'invented' analogue control for the 3D generation with the N64 pad, it seems strange not to evolve that technology further for the DS. Hmmmmmm
Yep, Nintendo has confirmed my decision to preorder a DS with their Mario 64 DS being the full Mario 64 game. Plus Animal Crossing, the girl rub game (can't remember title), PacPix, and New Super Mario Bros., I want a piece of that action. I'm going to place my preorder today. $150 here in the states. ^__^
Edited due to censorship. I love 2d, for god's sake you know that nd that is why I said triforce of the gods on the SFC would not work in 3d.For the love of 2d bro, for the love.Hee hee.
Ninty, if you continue to use language like that, posts will be deleted. And also, insulting someones english ability, when you use nonsensical sentences like that is a bit hypocritical.
Indeed. Let's keep it friendly here, it is never impossible to explain your statement in a manner that is more compatible with everyone's ethic boundaries ;-) Oh and let's get rid of this 2D-3D argument - which doesn't belong in this topic - I think about every participant has already accused everyone else of repeating him, so there's not really a point :smt043
Alright then I apologise but some of you really do take things too seriously, Cahaz nows I am not insulting him, I am only talking in street language.Do you tiptoe about everything you say to your mates...no I don't think so, and since we are all mates here I don't see the problem with the way I talk. Delete my posts if you want Tachikoma, I'm sure it won't make me bring out a rope to hang myself with. Also it wasn't insulting his english, I was just asking him to read it clearly, I know he understands english pretty well. Having any kind of sarcasm or or anything on this board these days is resulting in most of the mods getting on their high horse.I thank you Anti Pasta for not putting it in a condesending manner, and getting your point across to all of us.I think it's a case of having too many chiefs and not enough indians.Yakumo and Antipasta are enough mods. Anyway back on topic......the DS jap boxart could be much better imo, I wanted a simarily themed box to the jap mario 64 on N64.The new one looks too westernised but that is probably to d with the close launches of the two machines and I would be very surprised if ninty continues with this style.
I just noticed - The Japanese DS is released on my 21st birthday .... hmmmm .... more tempting now ...
