So i'm probably going to get a DS-Lite for Christmas as a present or i'll buy one myself and since this is going to be my DS i want to get as much out of it as i can since i have a psp i got my father but neither i nor him use it much. What are good games to get for the system including the not well known or popular ones. Also what about anything else i should get like accesories or stuff for doing homebrew like mp3 or whatever i can do with homebrew on a DS (minus piracy of course).
get an acekard 2 from www.dealextreme.com for your multimedia needs then check some games from this list: http://www.metacritic.com/games/ds/scores/
For homebrew I got the Games 'N' Music at Walmart for about 20 bucks.I use it for emualtors and mp3's for the most. As for games I would recommend. New Super Mario Bros. WarioWare: Touched Mario Kart DS Metroid Prime Hunters Super Princess Peach Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Densetsu no Stafi 4
For homebrew/multimedia/etc I would suggest a DS ONE Supercard and an 8GB MicroSDHC Class 4 or 6 for best performance. As for games: Zelda Phantom Hourglass Metroid Prime Hunters Wario Ware: Touched ! Mario Kart DS Advanced Wars Dual Strike Phoenix Wright - Ace Attorney Mario & Luigi Partners in Time Brain Age 1 & 2 Lego Star Wars - The Complete Saga Kirby Superstar Ultra Chrono Trigger Final Fantasy III Call of Duty 4 (for being a handheld FPS is one of the best I've tried so far) Metal Slug 7 In terms of accessories there's not much stuff, maybe a good carrying case and some screen protectors and an extra stylus just in case. The DS Opera Browser might come in handy too, though it's not great. And of course you could also try some GBA games too. Hope this helps
Cheers for the suggestions so far and GOH never heard of Ouendan at all but shall Google it and see what kinda game it is.
I never realized how great the DS was until recently...in terms of quality games for the amount of games on the system, it really beats the TV consoles by a LONG shot. I haven't owned a Nintendo system since N64, but getting a DS will change that There's already like 10 games I want to get for it, probably more.
HOTEL DUSK OR ELSE. BEST DS GAME EVER. Phantom Hourglass is a good game as well. Dementium: The ward Runaway: dream of the turtle Tetris DS New Super Mario Bros. and a few others that I cant recall
second. Is it any good? Have been thinking of buying it but the reviews have been a bit negative, saying the puzzles are to easy and stuff.
Some puzzles are easy but others really have me stumped sometimes (maybe I'm just thick lol). Either way I still think it's a good game from the art style, story and music etc. Example of 2 puzzles:- And
Defiantly look forward to getting a DS and cheers guys for all your suggestions. I think i have enough games to check out and possibly get 2 or maybe 3 at christmas and then get others after the new year.
Are the FFT games on DS any good? Final Fantasy Tactics is by far probably my second favorite FF game. I absolutely spent HOURS on that game when it came out (damn...almost 11 years ago!) and I'm curious as to when I pick up my DS if I should purchase the titles for it as well.
if you're the twisted sick kind of person who enjoys tactics games aim straight for Fire Emblem. The GBA games will serve your purposes as well, provided you have a DS or DS lite and not a DSi.
-Phoenix Wright games (all of them, they are all great games) -Zelda -Hotel Dusk -Chrono Trigger -FFIV -Ninja Town -Cooking Mama P) -Megaman ZX Advent -Kirby Superstar Ultra -Front Mission -Mario Kart -Castlevania (the first one that was released on the DS, i can't remember the name) -Contra 4 -The World Ends With You
slightly bigger screens, a sub-par camera and no gba slot. oh, and wifi supports wpa encryption. almost forgot about the sd slot for media (which you can achieve on the ds lite with a flashcart like acekard2)
Hmm, I'm still considering getting a DS. I never had a GBA but the lack of backwards compatibility is kind of upsetting...but bigger screens and more wifi support are good...hmm
it is unfortunate that Wifi support on the original DS and DS lite is relatively speaking, ASS. There's only WEP support and even then my router isn't seen by the device, although my Wii sees it just fine. That said, I treasure the GBA slot more than "better wifi and a bigger screen" to be honest.
