    They really need to get more colors than the varnish red and puke brown in North America. Sure, it caters to older people but... Come on! (^_^);

That's good news to me. At least it'll help justify the price tag. If it's backwards compatible that will be even better.

Not everybody cares about or wants GBA games.
GBA = great system, however. :)

I don't think dsi ware will be a huge waste, knowing nintendo they will probably have it work on the 3ds.

Ah thanks for the links Subbie. I always wondered if developers ever took on with it since it was pretty risky at the time (With a lot of people already having a DS). Hopefully Nintendo has learned their lesson with bringing this in so late in the DS's life that with the 3DS its just available from day one.

There should have been a new xbox by now... ms and sony don't want a new hardware war. we're going to have both of these underpowered boxes around for a long time....

They spent so much money fighting this one out already that they want to wait another year or so. Good deal.

In a few years some SoC's (like Tegra) will have a power close to that of the PS3, but now? In all the Tegra demos I've seen the graphics dont even reach Dreamcast-quality levels, and thats a 12 year-old console.

I say be happy if its close to the GC, considering the DS is halfway behind the power of a N64.

Well they did say they wanted this generation to last a decade or so, and considering how nobody really cared that the GC/Wii platform lasted almost that much, I dont see any repercussions on the horizon.

I got a DSi as an anniversary present and I actually find myself playing DSiWare games more than my DS games. There's some quality stuff on there like AlphaBounce, Metal Torrent, X-Scape, etc.

Though with 3DS coming soon I doubt the DSiWare stuff will ever get a chance to hit its stride. A shame...

Edit: Actually, I would say X-Scape is one of the best games I've played this year period.

Yeah DSiware stuff is pretty cool. Actually I don't think it will die out so quickly since the 3ds, along with being BC with the DS, was stated to be compatible with all DSiware stuff as well (but sadly as it stands, there is no way to transfer your license/content from one DSi to another due to nintendo being dicks).

Since my DSi is a JPN unit, I can't wait till X-Scape hits the JPN store (it tends to get Q-Games stuff 2-3 weeks later).

You mean a downgrade from the horribly afflicted yellowed screens and speakers with less volume than the best hearing aid money can buy along with terrible over saturation and contrast>?

    Then sure.

    imho

The DSI and DSIXL have been the only step ups from the original DS. I hate the lite with a passion

Yeah, thats retarded. Looks like I'll be keeping my DSi for as long as I can just so I can play the $100 or so worth of games I have on it.

While on the topic of DSiWare, Photodojo is FREE for a limited time (at least on the US store). And after messing around with it some, it really is a laugh. Don't know how happy I'd be to pay more than $2 for it, but its worth a look for the novelty.
