Hey all, so recently I picked up a DTP-T1000 in what apears to be full working order. Now to make something clear, I am an absolute beginner and have no idea how to use one of these things, I just got it as a collectible as I love rare and obscure consoles / electronic equipment. When powered on, all I get is Now if I understand, the system can be reached via local IP on a system connected to the same network, is this correct? Thanks in advance! -Alex
Yes, that is correct. You may need to change some network configuration if your network is in a different subnet though. Unfortuantely, you need the corresponding SDK if you want to do anything useful with it, and so far, only old partial SDKs have been leaked.
what i find interesting is that mine is 5.55 yours is a higher update version and yours stays on the black screen when my goes to the retail style dash after like 5 second of it being on that screen
I see - Perhaps mine is protected with some kind of security feature? I have no idea of the establishment it came from, all I know is that it contains a disc labeled "SO-debug v1.1".
Just tried my unit, takes longer for my TOOL (DTP-T1000 A) to load than my debug (DTP-H1500 A) to the load the XMB but it does automatically go into the XMB after briefly showing that screenshot you posted.
I believe there might be a setting in the webserver to specify if it stays or auto boots into the xmb. As said you should be able to push a button to boot there as well. You can also force it by going into the webserver. As long as you are on the same network just go into your browser and type "http://<device_ip>". Hopefully nobody changed the admin password and it's still the default (forgot if it was administrator or admin, username and pass should be the same).
It depends on your version. SDK 2.60 (CP + FW) and above allow booting directly to the vsh in system software mode, SDK5.00 beta and above no longer need the kbooti.bin to boot in debugger mode either.
This is because it first starts the CP (the DTP-H1500 do not have a CP), then the CP runs bootdispi.bin (stored on the CP flash) which in turn (after a 5 seconds timeout if I recall correctly) runs kbooti.bin (stored on flash3:/) , while the DTP-H1500 boot straight to the IPL.
I do wish people were keeping these units as more than just collectible items, especially as the DTP-T1000 is quite the paperweight without the required SDK files.
Yeah, i know it was the communication processor loading. I only got it as I obtained it for free, and if one day the SDK leaks, I'll have the necessary hardware to use it as I develop software on the side and wanted to try out SONY PS development (Including PSP)
Do you know which IP I would need to type? I am having issues connecting through my PC. Edit: Fixed it now, nevermind.
