Was just downloading Duke 3d for my PSP when adsense brought up something interesting... Duke Nukem Forever for PC £24.99 via amazon... More than likely the former, but hey, if it is the latter... I'm still hoping for Shenmue III.
Honestly...untill there's some actual press of the game, just ignore everything DNF. Too many wasted conversations have gone on about it... At this point I think those guys aren't going to stop until the game is perfect, which could be who knows how long. They've already had such a huge development run on the game, so who knows "when its Done". While, I'm sick of any DNF rumors, I'm sure if you post this at the 3D realms fourms and for some reason they go crazy
This. To be honest, I'd rather them just release everything they've worked on that ever had the title "Duke Nukem Forever" and just sell it as a package of unsupported beta code. I couldn't care less about the "real" game at this point; I just want to play some of those badass-looking early versions.
Are you kidding me?? The game is definitely going to come out eventually. The guys have been going on and on about the thing for way to long that it would just shame the team members. Not to mention scraping the whole thing now would mean a incredible amount of money was wasted. George B. (the leader) has reaffirmed that the game is coming out so many times that if it honestly, then I think the guy will end up more reclusive then J.D Salinger. He will become a legend of ridicule forever.... Duke nukem forever.
waste money? I'm sure there's no way in hell they actually make money by releasing this, even for $100. At some point, you'd figure they'd have scrapped it regardless of how far along it is.
If DNF comes out, I will crap myself, no exaggeration. I still play Duke 3D, so Duke 4 will make my head explode.

Remeber money isn't everything, time and life also matters. 10 years of life is a big deal. DNF has long passed the point of being something to make profit. This isn't some business that isn't making money, its a group of guys who want to finish something thats been in the works for a epic amount of time. Plus, the leader of the entire project has said on multiple occasions how much he wants this project done. This project and Duke are his babies. This ain't like sonic Xtreme where there's Naka and huge corporation politics. 3D Realms is a fairly small development house and George has reaffirmed his commitment way too many times over the years, to just drop it. Who says that the game won't eventually make a profit? Remeber that the completion of this game means the revival of a franchise series. So its popularity would lead to sequels, etc. Which could in turn make some profit.
Well I don't want to get deep in this discussion, but Prey was also in DNF-limbo for quite some time before it got out. It's a nice game too.
