Hi all, Just wondering of the ways, other than NAND-X or any other physical way, to extract a NAND above recovery 20353? Any updated apps / xexs? Thanks
Thanks mate think I did see that but didnt know whether to trust it or not, never visited that site I'll try it now though EDIT: It just made my kit reboot and do a crash dump of the default.xex :s
The dump says from the simple NAND flasher it because it tried to read or write to an address and it did not have the appropriate access, do I have to go lower than 21256? Security reasons? Also, the digiex one doesnt state above 512, Im using a 4GB Slim mate, sorry, shouldve said that
Only ever used HvXDump, I thought HvXDump was created for devs, since I never see anyone talking about flash360 used on a dev. I'm guessing though if HvX cant dump past 20353, flash360 cant be any better?
Flash360.xex is fine for use on devs mate, i use it all the time. Can read and write to the dev nand no problems.
Is it compatible with 20353 + and a 4GB NAND? I know it's an old app haven't seen a recent update. Seems to be a security patch or something, HvX dumps but has no fuse sets (appears as 0s), and the other app crashes due to not having read / write access? Cheers matey
Ive never dumped 4gb before, most ive had to dump is 512mb but yeah flash360 has worked for me on all recoveries. HvXDump only works on the older recoveries. Im trying to dig out the tool that dumps it on later recoveries but it must be ona different hdd... *Edit On seconds thoughts mate you will only be dumping 512mb also, the 4gb memory your referring to is an additional module on the motherboard.
Well, aint that something? So neither of these apps seem to work with a Corona final. I guess I had not tried with this kit before. Simple360NandFlasher crashed the kit near immediately while NandFlasher allowed it to at least start but a message came up stating no nand found/nand not supported and then crashed the kit. This is interesting. Wonder if this happens with RJtag/RGH'd Corona's? Well here I figured I helped, open Pandora's Box. Anyone have insight what can be used with a Corona?
Just tried it after your suggestion. Crashes app, not kit itself. Blue screen giving the only option to press any button to exit stating execution failed, or something along those lines. No luck thus far. I think the developers of the nand flash/dump homebrew didn't consider the 4gb nand, I mean who would have thought we would go to something so large?
flash360 was made way before the corona MB, so it wont have 4gb r/w support. the only thing i can think of is use xell to dump/flash the nand, but not sure if the xex would work on higher recoverys...
Thanks for testing XboxSurgeon. Hmmmm, it is a bit of a nuisance, pretty much tried near all the resources. The reason by the way is because the kit will not go as low as 20353, Im not being awkward haha, appreciate all the input
If you have some lying around, I used a nand-x with a slim prototype via the stress cables by using the solder-intended wires with the Nand-X, stripped the nand-x's wires and twisted them to a point, and then just "plugged" the nand-x wires into the appropriate stress cable ends so there was no need to solder and about the easiest process when it comes to using a nand-x with an XDK.
