DV4 permission to sell on Ebay... Now Had reply from ebay

Hi guys
I chanced my arm and asked the chat support guy on Ebay if I can sell a 2002 DV4 on ebay as I was sure I couldn't and they would pull it if posted.
He replied with the following advice. Im not too techie sostill none the wiser lol.... can anyone tell me after what he said can I therefore try to sell it on ebay??

Barry, you may surely list this kit if it doesn't interferre with the original firmware of the Xbox console. Also, make sure that the kit doesn't enable to console to bypass security and allows users to play back up or import copies of video games or movies on the console.

Per our policy, devices that allow users to play backup games and/or imported games on a domestic system (including mod chips, game enhancers and boot discs) are not allowed on eBay as they infringe the copyright of the content owner.

Most of the time listings get taken down and other times they sell. You're best to list here.

 

AFAIK they don't take down the auctions during the weekend. Best to list then from what I've seen (on ebay!)

 

That guy did not even look up what a DVT is and just gave you a standard generic reply :/

 

Probably because he called it a DV4...

 

They also can take down auctions after they are over, which has happened to me.

 

What's the excuse they give when they take down developer system auctions? And if the buyer pays immediately, what happens to a deleted finished auction?

Devkits are not mentioned in the eBay policy. My guess is that it's actually someone at Microsoft trawling eBay each work day and submitting auction deletion requests through VeRO.

 

Copyright complaints usually, yeah. In my case, the person still shipped as I had already paid, and all was good. But I could have sought a refund and all that.

 

It's very rare for dev consoles to be legally sold. Most of the time, they're considered stolen. The only real exception I know if is if they go to auction.

Ps.thanx for the comments guys...and the spell check...the reason the ebay nobhead called it a dv4 was because another nobhead (me) told him it was called that....lol

 

You're best to sell here mate, even though you'll get more for it on eBay.. chances are a bit iffy though...

 

I actually worked with someone who was on that team. There is (or was) a team whose sole function was to find vero issues on eBay.

 

So the $60, 000 dollar question is. .if I put in ebat they take it off or they take it off and send the feds round to confiscate it lol. Which wouldnt surprise me nowadays in this big brother world etc.

Anyhoo....i want it gone as like I say its not my interest I am just a casual middle aged gamer lol.

You the eBay seller stuffusell from London? If so I found your listing and so far the price isn't stupid even with the high shipping cost to the US. I'd get it but I'm broke from getting my current debug console...
