No, they aren't all prototypes. Those are typically just the first of the "Final Hardware" revision from August 2001 and possibly slightly after.
The one I have is a Revision 1 has 3 stickers on the box, (1) DVD Emulator Kit (2) 940-75004 Rev. 01 XBOX, DVD EMULATOR (3) Made in the USA Inside the box is the Raptor PCI card and HDD, mine are both sealed. I have a few emulator kits that came with bundled with DVT-4 systems as well as an emulator kit that I purchased seperately. I've attached a few pictures of the one I bought seperately. It's a revision 3. It came with 2 raptor card variants and a Maxtor HDD.
