The Cycle of E3 -Press Conferences where half the game shown (usually the interesting ones) get delayed or canceled. -lots of bro game FPSes are annouced. -stage demos of Call of Duty 37 and it's many me too games -The Actual show where nothing interesting is actually happening - Fanboys arguing for 2 weeks over who "Won E3" even though E3 isn't a comptition. - Annnoucements for the hardcore gamers actually are held off until Evo, Gamescom, San Diego Comicon or TGS. The next year repeat. So now when I see some blogger on my Facebook creaming themselves over going to E3 I just roll my eyes. Has the E3 magic worn off for the rest of you too? Cuz I'm giving less and less shits each year.
Only thing that interests me about this E3 is that Bethesda will be having its first booth. I want me some DOOM.
Only thing I care about is more SFV characters being revealed, although I'm thinking that's going to wait for EVO.
E3 is a major ballsack. I usually just stay out of the loop, can't stand what gaming fanism is like today. /thread.
I don't really watch E3 anymore. I only really have nintendo systems and a ps3. I'll look into to what nintendo shows off but thats about it. E3 is just a big snore now.
Other than Fallout and Sm4sh, not really interested. I'm sure they'll show Call of Duty and everyone will flip their shit because "L0lZ s0 1nN0vative ItS THE FUUUTUURE WHOOAA"
Battletoads!!!! It will happen, just watch. Other than that, come on Nintendo, tell me when I get to play Xenoblade Chronicles X. And the new open world Zelda game. And announce some more amazing stuff for the 3DS.
It's no coincidence they're in the XBOX One port of Shovel Knight. But do we even care about Rare games anymore? Most of the staff that made Rare what it was in the glory days have left and gone Indie.
I'd like to see it. I don't have many expectations, but it would still be nice to see such a classic franchise get a reboot. Also, who wouldn't love to call GameStop with all your Battletoads-related questions?
I've never really followed E3; usually I just find out what's being released after the event. I think the last gaming announcement "event" somebody made me watch was the Xbox One reveal... and boy, was that ever exciting.
One thing I'm wondering is why did Bethesda announce Fallout 4 before? That would have stolen the show for their first actual E3 show.
Kameo and Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts were pretty good though. Hell, I even liked Perfect Dark Zero fine. People seemed to really like the Viva Pinata stuff too (though I never played it). Rare can still make good games, Microsoft just doesn't let them most of the time. But now that the Kinect is essentially dead maybe they can get back to it. That said, I would also love another Captain Skyhawk... man that game was fun.
A lot of people thought Perfect Dark Zero was really terrible. I have it, but haven't played it much. The part that I played didn't seem terrible, but I also wasn't very impressed. I have Kameo too, but I haven't played it - though I think I might have played a demo of it when it was released.
Perhaps they want more time to show the new Doom? Anyway, i actually enjoy watching E3. Maybe it's because i'm not in US? I'm interested in some games that might actually be shown, like SOMA
I thought Kameo was fairly decent, but it took me a very long time to finally play through the entire thing. I would usually start a new file, beat the first two dungeons or so, and then lose interest.. so that probably isn't a good sign. My first impression of Perfect Dark Zero was highly negative, as well... but after a while, I liked it to some extent. It's clear, however, that the talent responsible for making GoldenEye/Perfect Dark great on the N64 had already left to be part of Free Radical. TimeSplitters 2/Future Perfect will always be the true successors to the original Perfect Dark for me... although, I'm not sure it's really a matter of opinion; they simply are.
I just always had fun playing Infection in PDZ. Single player campaign wasn't anything to write home about, but the multiplayer was a lot of fun (which is what those games are supposed to deliver anyways).
^I just hated how limited the player skin selection was for Perfect Dark Zero multiplayer, even though I know that doesn't actually affect gameplay. It was still fun, and some of the maps were great... I just don't like being forced to wear Joanna's default star tanktop and camo pants in a standard deathmatch! The Carrington Institute uniform works way better for her design, and was one of the things I really liked about the game. Also, I seem to remember there being no way to totally disable body armor... although, I think it's off in Dark Combat mode.
I don't think I got any rare games on 360. I really wanted PDZ, the PD remake and the Banjo games on XBL though. Probably won't bother now since my 360 is for all intents and perposeses an off line machine.
