I'll be doing a set of re-encodes, starting tonight, of the anime parts of the tapes. Will browse through the last tapes and index those too while I'm at it. Still lots of stuff I haven't had time to check yet, though. (Don't know if I have the time either, as in early July, I'll be out of country again. So depending on how big the work load is while I'm at home, I'll see what I can get around to do. But no worries, they're not going anywhere). [edit] Okay, new final encodes and such almost done; -704x460 (Cashman/Go Go Ackman, others should be 704x396, or something) -Two audio tracks (Original source audio+Noise Reduced edit) -x264 codec w/aac audio. Will probably do two files for each. One with soft subs (I actually hate soft subs, oddly enough, but hey, no harm in including them for anyone who wants them) and one with them hard encoded onto the video. File sizes will probably be 170mb each (I have another encoding/bitrate set that gives 270mb, but so far differences aren't noticable) Note: Dunno if I'll do Chrono Trigger, might just do a raw release with my settings. Besides this one's been out for ages anyway (just not in this good quality, I guess)
Pardon the lack of updates. The previous week I was visiting my new office and had a look at where I'll be spending my time for the next months to come. I'm not in the US, never been there. Anyway, for those waiting for the videos. I'm still waiting for translations, but since I'll also be open for the input of others, I'll be putting up a set of low-res web streams within the next few days. This will both allow people to get a preview look at stuff and it'll enable me to test out server bandwith and a few other things. As soon as translations are done, script has been polished/edited and new encodes has been made, the hi-res movies will be available (both with and without subs ) I hope everyone looking forward to this can keep their pants on without turning into some sort of offensive asshat bitching and complaining about all sorts of stuff. I happen to take a little bit of pride in the things I do, so I'd rather work out the kinks and provide a "as close to perfect as possible" experience, than some half-assed butch job that wont pass the test of time. @Karsten: Sorry about the no-update for you, I'll make sure to keep it in mind when I've got myself some time within the next few days.
Okay, here's a quick test for Go! Go! Ackman. This is just based on the pre-processed video, which is why it has some black bars, screwy "usually overscanned" footage and a bunch stuff like that. Bandwith of about 30kb/s+ should be enough to keep it going steady. Settings are currently just trying to stay as close as possible to the settings of other video stream sites, though, I've probably been a bit stupid and upped the audio quality a tiny bit and decreased the video... Yeah, don't ask.
