Stunning. I'm determined to one day paint my Saturn in that colour scheme - it looks more expensive, vastly superior (compared with the "final" version) and... well... er... it's just better all round! *drools*
I did a long time ago  Still use this Saturn a lot even now. Wish I had the logos though. Yakumo
Yakumo, your work isn't bad at all, though I'd definitely want to keep all the logos if ever I decided to paint my Saturn (it looks difficult, but it's certainly possible as I've seen other fan mods before that have achived this effect). My last attempt to recolour a console transferred onto my hands after prolonged gameplay, so perhaps next time I'll just not bother spraying the controllers - besides, I like the official Japanese scheme for the Saturn!
Yakumo - that's pretty damn hot! okay admittedly not as sweet as Sega's original silver Saturn, but better than anthing else I've seen. exellent. I'm slightly jeolous. good job.
how about it's big brother ? I never use this set though. Looks far too good  The Saturn on the other hand......... I'm thining about sticking a Saturn in to a DC case but I'm not sure it can be done even with some cutting up the board. My soldering skills aren't that good you see. Yakumo
what sort of paint do you use on the consoles? they look as if they were straight out of the factory! I wouldnt mind painting my dreamcast now that it has its yellowing effect
Hey, it does as well  The paint I use is a matt based paint for use on plastic, metals or glass. Yakumo
I'm pretty sure it cannot. I had a similar aim once myself, but I found that the main board pretty much takes up the entire area of the base of the unit. That is to say, there is no way to make it smaller without cutting it up. That's the North American unit anyway, I forget what the Japanese one looked like; very different though.
Wasn't there some sort of article in GamePro magazine a ling time ago that had images of the Ultra 64 and the Saturn as proto's? I remember seeing pictures of Mario, Peach, and Bowser in some weird 3d city thing (they were flat cut outs from what looked like an instruction manual) as "demo" pics of what the U64 was supposed to do.
Hell yeah! as yakumo says the original one shown on E3 1998 was way more classy, with more details and a nice shiny jewel Heres a scan from an old magazine I have Enjoy
a shop in greece had an Ultra 64 on display for sale. Sadly, my friend didn't bother to retain the address in order to revisit and snatch the machine for the standard price.
They sure slaped a Ultra64 sticker on it, after all the N64 only has a badge, which should be easy to change for another.
