Either he is accidentally leaving it out of the sale (in which case mention that it was part of the auction and therefore surely part of the deal) or he doesn't actually know what you are talking about.

The com kit is the brown box = Marlin inside. The thick cable in the plastic bag in the image is what you use to link the DDH to the host PC (Marlin). Hope he gives you a straight answer and someone hasn't 'nobbled' the auction and asked the seller to sell the Marlin on it's own... which is another theory ;-)

Well I dropped in an hour or so ago and he opened the bag that had the brown box in it...

The above photo is the one from the link and "not" the one I saw

Looked at the card and it did look remarkably like this one as had the same static wording at the bottom and the same PCI slot on the top....but had a big cable running across it.......like a wide scart lead.......and it was still sealed so couldn`t really get him to open it

He said it was the same as the one in the unit itself

So still not 100% sure if it was this MARLIN or not......don`t think it is........so could be a real Paperweight :crying:

It looks awesome, but shipping is too much for bidding... :-(

The cable may have been the power cable (?) as you need to plug the card into the computer's psu like a dvd or floppy drive. Unfortunatley, I don't remember what the marlin looked like when I originally unpacked it (my DDH came brand new in its original sealed shipping box). Honestly, with the condition of everything in the photo (the apparent crispness) and all of what is contained, it looks like a never used kit that was just taken from the box. I'd go for it if I was in your situation.

I agree, if I was in the UK right now I would be picking it up and running with it. Even if it doesn't have the marlin card it looks like a complete kit. The worst that could happen is that you don't have the marlin card and you just have to hunt one down.

Sega Naomi Universal / Net City arcade cab (UK)

This is the European version. It is the Net City (although commonly mistakenly called the Universal, due to the erroneous decals). The Universal is the cut-down version, whereas the Net City is the full sized version seen in the image. It therefore gets called both Universal & Net City... anyway!

Here is a fine example of the hard to find Naomi arcade cab. I've got one and highly recommend it. Fantastic piece of hardware, beautifully constructed and easily adapted (CP changes are a piece of cake).

Starting at £150.00 in the B/ham area (Midlands) puts it in reach of most of England! Given that these units still regularly sell for £500-£750 second-hand.

The only thing to make sure of is that the screen is in perfect condition, that the keys are included and that the unit is in good working order. Spares are available from www.segashed.com so if anything is missing it can be replaced.

    Good luck! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Naomi-Universal-Arcade-Machine-100-Sega-Virtua-Golf_W0QQitemZ320289053180QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item320289053180&_trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

You can't get it here, but you can get a savings bottle with a picture of it on.

I'd LOVE to bid on that one, but if I want to ship a thing that size it's probably gonna cost me a million. Net City/Universal cabs are really hard to get here, the closest one I can get is about 300 miles away from me and costs about 700 euros.

Oh well, I'll find a cheap one eventually.
