Never heard of any Megumi Hayashibara Dreamcast. I bet it was a store promotion and that all you get is the magazine, CD and card / sticks given to you when you bought a Dreamcast. Nothing at all special there. In fact if you could track down the magazine you could make your very own limited edition.

Still a little lame to call it a limited edition imo. The only thing limited there is the box really...

Of course peoples perception of the term Limited Edition is different.

But in my eyes, it's not really limited...

 

Well, there seems to be a sticker on the box, that means basically you'd pay ~350$ for a sticker. But in a world where 500$ are paid for a piece of plastic around a game I could imagine it would make a nice collectible to some generous DC collectors
In any way it doesn't seem fake and the box is different. There are people who think this might be worth it (like me, if I wouldn't mind this kind of money so much) as a lot of consoles had rare package variations like that one. Saturn for instance: A "campaign skeleton saturn" goes for twice or triple of a usual Saturn for no reason but the logo on the box, same with the "Bomberman Kit" that includes nothing but a white 70$ Saturn + 10$ Bomberman but goes for almost 600$.

I wouldnt mind admiting, if I had a money tree, I would pick som leafs of it, and buy the damn thing:dance:

But when I'm still saving to buy an apartment, whick dosen't come cheap in Copenhagen I might add, I really think twice, or even thrice about buying these standard consoles with novelty boxes

That same seller has posted up a few of those. Prior ones have sold for $2,000. That one is a bit high.

I believe the seller did a buyout from a San Diego developer that closed up shop.
