^Pretty cool. Kinda over the top price considering the recent Ebay prices of Virtual Hamster and Xmen perhaps..I presume this is more rare.

That sticker on the top right of the box is only on the different colour dc's. [Pearl blue/black/silver/pink/custom/etc..]

Can someone ask the seller for a picture of the console? If it IS different, this one would have to rank higher than the custom 78 - I've seen numerous custom 78's for sale over the last 6 or 7 years - If this one is actually a different coloured console then it's the first I've ever seen of it. Certainly the first to appear on eBay.

Otherwise, it's a heck of a gamble not knowing for sure.

    Interesting!

Well the special campaign skeleton is a skeleton, which goes for more than a regular saturn usually. Also it was a prize item so not for sale etc, extra value. I'm guessing in your comparison you mean to compare a special campaign to a regular skeleton, not a regular saturn! They don't tend to go for any more than a normal skeleton though in my experience.

As for the Bomberman Kit saturn, I assume you're saying $600 as the last one sold for that (45,500 yen + extras)? Or have you seen others too? Bear in mind that was the first I'd seen of that package for 4-5 years, it was new unused, and Bomberman is a popular series on Saturn. You're totally correct of course! But given more context I don't see it as that excessive. Unused white saturn can hit 20k yen.

Cheers Kron, I also asked the seller...

    "Dear cheifwhat,

hi ! it's a regular dc as the toyota one, nothing special except the box ;)

    - akibadai"

Respect to the seller for being prompt and upfront about answering this question - they could very easily have said "I'm not opening the box as it's unopened, etc..."

It is authentic. I own one too. It was a prize on the radio show together with some goodies. Sure, it is only a regular DC - nothing special besides the sticker on the box. But on the other hand: there are tons of rare not-for-sale systems in Japan which only were available in small quantities (1-100 units) as lottery prizes or the like, which most of the time differ only in minor details. It is really hard to keep track of all editions, since you have to own all magazines, inquiry cards and ads from Japan to be sure that you won't miss any hibaihin edition... hell of work. :(

Yeah, and at some point I gotta draw a line, otherwise I'd have to expand the house, just to have room for all those DC systems:dance:

I am genuinely staggered by the amount of limited dc's that must be out there. Hell of work, indeed!

It's a Pepsi Hulk LE which I've mentioned before. The spare cases that were not claimed after the Mountain Dew LE units were reused for the release of Hulk in Europe. It's very rare! Not sure about the between 35 and 200 claim. I was under the impression that 250 were produced.

It is nothing, compared to Saturn and Playstation... DC is too easy to collect since all editions are well-documented on the net and in books/magazines. Saturn on the other hand is HELL!!!
