    It was used for in-store demo kiosks.

    There was a stock/standard SNES inside the kiosk and a circuit board that took an SCART input into it, and output the RGB connection that you see on the back of that display.

    So two cables - SNES port <--> SCART which connected to the special circuit board, and then RGB <--> RGB that connected the circuit board to the display.

    Was a very, very nice picture quality ...

    That unit has been up for sale for about the last year and a half.

    You can flip the switch to unencrypted in order to run unsigned code and back to encrypted for signed code.

    Kinda what I figured. Wondering what it does specifically inside that allows for unsigned code. Though given the key was recently factored this isn't a big deal.

    The switch selects between two different ROM's. One ROM requires verification of the hash before execution of the code, the other doesn't.
