I am not any kind of expert in CDI players, but I here is some info on the 6xx models taken from the net:

Philips professional and authoring CD-i players

Philips sold various professional CD-i players next to the standard consumer models. Both types of players comply fully to the CD-i standard as defined in the Green Book and were based on the same CPU and audio and video ICs, but the professional players usually offered some extra features. There were professional players with an integrated floppy disk drive, parallel ports to connect a printer or ZIP-drive, SCSI-ports, Ethernet network connections or with up to 5 MB of extra RAM. Some players had a feature that enabled the users to customise the start-up screen of the player shell. Several professional players were especially made for CD-i development studios since they included input ports to connect an emulator to simulate the playback of a CD-i disc from an external hard disk for testing purposes.

    Philips CDI 602

Identical to the CDI 601, but equiped with a floppy disk drive for additional storage capabilities. The system could not be extended with a Digital Video cartridge.

Great sell, as these are quite uncommon I believe!

One hopes he burns his house down whilst he's still in it and a random comes along, puts a sticky eye on his charred body and sticks it on ebay just for the hell of it.

I love the bit where someone actually questions the seller saying 'what the heck is this?' quality!

At least the seller offers a warranty...

Just out of interest did anyone in this community win this auction:

    The Dream Machine!

Just curious as it ended at a good price...come on don't be shy who won this!

Was just about to buy this, but it ended just as I logged back on to click buy it now... My personal holy grail :gravedigging:

So I'm curious, did someone on these forums buy it?

    Also:

I have one. You can dev cdi on it. Has fdd, scsi, etc.

Uses cd caddy that is special to it, so normal caddy wont work.

More like the obsolete paperweight lol.
