The PAL version is not rare at all, 5 bucks in box. This is the Australian PAL, so maybe a little bit more? Not sure...

    @Lum
No, only Turok 2 was in black.

Okay, honest question here, what am I missing about this auction:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/290846644446

It's just a PSP Test (H1500)... Why did it sell for $2000? Am I missing something, or did it just sell really high?
Pretty sure I've seen a couple go here for like $500-600 or something... I bought a full Dev Tool for about $850 (on eBay via normal bidding)...
Even if the buyer thought it was a Dev Tool instead of a Test Tool, $2000 still seems quite high for that...

If you remove all the potential shill bidding, $395 seems to be what it's highest bid would have been... But did someone really bid/pay $2000? :)

Seeing how the same person went from $405 to 980 consecutively, I think it's "random person sees something obscure, random person sells his life for it." Then someone else comes in and just says screw it, I want it.

It's called the beauty of the auction.

Old ebay used to be like that, you could put up a jpn saturn shooter and come back to see it sold for $200...

Okay, so it's just auction stupidity, I'm not missing anything then. :)

I still think it's weird that a 0-feedback brand new eBay account bid $2000 on the item within 8 hours of the auction. Then another bidder bids $1000, and wasn't the high bidder. Then he bids $2000, and wasn't the high bidder... Then he bids something ($3000?) and wins it for $2025... Not to mention the other person nudging it up $50 at a time or whatever... I suppose the bids could be real, but I've never seen someone decide to pay $1000 for something then think 'Oh hell, I can pay $2000' in one bid increment... And then bid MORE a third time... It seems too weird. Might be legit I suppose, but still weird. :)

I was very intersted in that until it hit 500, seeing I almost bought one for only 320 not that long ago. But god I was laughing at the losers who are going to pay 4 figures, but I never thought 2000 would be broken.

Notice the influx of psp dev stuff now? Another guy has one listed and there has been one for a grand for a while, but hell to some people that is a fair price it seems!

    BIG POST AHEAD!!!

What really irked me the way the auction went down:
    starting price $0.99
first bid $10.00 (an hour in)
second bid $100.00 (2 hours in) (mine)

at this point I ALSO send the following message:
    seller's reply:
    my reply:
    seller's reply:
(Obviously at this point it looks like the seller's pretty much decided to do the crap that's been floating around recently and just pull the thing because 450$ is a good deal for something right?)
    my reply:
At this point I figured I'de hear something, but nothing.. I also figured my offer was in line with what debug tests were going for these days, and 2 controllers wouldn't hurt, but I also know how ebay's been doing early cancellations-
cancel and sell to highest bidder, and incur fees based on that actual amount.
As I'm sitting there waiting to hear anything back.. nothing in eBay messages, by phone, etc, z***m[IMG]( 0 ) bids my bid up 10$ at a time, I counter, and we banter back and forth in bids up to my last bid of 300$ at Jan-17-13 19:59:15 PST
Now, if you look at that bidding history, here's where it gets "funny":

I'm not about to go any higher at the time being as I don't know that this 0 feedback guy has bid it up to 2000$, but I DO know that if the seller WAS considering outside sales, he's going to have a penalty to pay regardless now, so it's back in the "open" for normal bidding.

so the rest of the week goes by and we see:

as what I'd consider the LAST real bid, about 15 minutes before the auction is over.
IMMEDIATELY after this bid is placed,
h***z[IMG]( 6 ) who has NEVER bid on the item up to this point, pops in, and drops a bid of 1000$, then 2000$.

    now, let's analyze the bidders:
    z***m[IMG]( 0 )
probably a fake buyer designed to try and create an impossible bidding war for which the seller planned to cancel as a "non-paying bidder, and sell to the next highest"
I COULD be wrong here, but who bids 1000, then 2000 on an item with a relatively even growth curve like this?

    h***z[IMG]( 6 )
also likely fake, but unknown. odd that the public feedback only lists 3 bids on one item in the last 3 months.

    Take away from this:
    System was probably sold to
    d***e[IMG]( 59[IMG]) for 980$.

Buyers have a lot of tools at their disposal to try and bump the "goldmine" items.
Seller seems to be a straight up guy otherwise ( I just got one of the debugs I had ordered off him yesterday, really well packed), but the system's broke:
    - Buyers know the lure of quick easy money is a usually enough of a lure to get sellers to early-sell, thus the magical "disappearing" auctions.
    - Sellers can game the system pretty badly these days, with fake non-paying bidders.

So with that aside, anyone have a PSP TOOL around for a realistic price? I'm still looking for one.

I'm gunna message him, and (seeing as he's dumb enough to put all those crappy consoles on the floor of a shockingly wet storage unit) see if he'll sell some of the individual units for cheap. The guy can't know what they're worth, his price is ridiculous for all that crap.
