Given the number of those Gameboys and Zelda games that have been sold, I reckon they're just out of stock. Business sellers bump up the price so they don't have to remove the listing and if someone is stupid enough to go for it, they can just source one from elsewhere.

DVD BOX???? EW Saturn (and Sega CD) game were always in oversized CD case but never a DVD case.

PS about $0.05 for printed paper for cover and about $0.25 for DVD case if you buy in bulk, no way it's worth $8 seller wanted

 

Well, everyone can manufacture shit like that and put a price-tag on it.... it's the customer's fault if they're stupid enough to spend their money on it.

 

I think the main reason why sellers jack up the shipping price and not the item price is to help save them money on shipping insurance. If you pay a seller a total of $100 for an item, but the seller reports the sale in such a way that only $5.00 allegedly goes toward the item while the other $95.00 supposedly goes towards the shipping charges, and the seller then provides you "full insurance" coverage for the shipping of your item, the seller only has to pay the postal service the amount that is necessary to get $5.00 of insurance coverage. Of course, if the item then gets lost by the postal service, the postal service only pays out a maximum of $5.00.

 

Insurance means diddly squat. If the package arrived badly damaged or is lost, then seller is fully responsible under eBay and Paypal rule. The buyer can file claim and get full refund including shipping. If the seller tried to be cheap and sent it with $1 insurance and it gets damaged, then seller is the one out of luck, not the buyer.
