Without knowing anything about the seller I'd have to say proceed with caution. 1st party Nintendo dev carts are very hard to find let alone flagship titles like Zelda. This one is on a reprogrammable GBA flash cart. In my book guilty until proven innocent.

Of course that is on an official Nintendo dev cart. Getting the official carts isn't that hard. Getting the flashing hardware to write to said carts is a wee bit more difficult. If it's on an official cart, chances are good it is legit. Especially when you look at the sheer number of CD-R burns that people blindly buy assuming they are "original."

    You think?

I'm not so sure... It would be trivial for half of the people on this board to flash the rom from the retail onto a blank cart and toss it on ebay with "OMG R4R3!!!! Zelda prototype". Unless you can track the history of the cart (ie find out which magazine it was sent to for review, or which developer it used to belong to).

When it comes to ebay, i wouldn't touch half of the "protos" out there without tracing back their history to a legit source. "I found it at a fleemarket" doesn't really cut it for me.

There is another pair selling for $660 if anyone is interested. I don't remember how to shorten links so just do a search.

Why would someone buy them if they don't know the size?

On a more serious note, any chances of seeing a pic of the inside?

EDIT: I took another look at the GBA Zelda proto, i'm leaning towards that being legit now. Especally considering the mailing address of the package matches Nintendo of America's main hedquarters. That's a pretty good clue...

Actually, the size is listed in the auction: Men 10 1/2. But I would assume the winner isn't planning on wearing them.. :)

They are the most uncomfortable sports shoes I have ever worn BTW. I'm sure it'll just be a collector's item for whoever wins it...
