I noticed this. I was an active bidder in this auction twice. It kept getting kicked because the guy kept leaving the word 'bootleg' in the description. I emailed him about the beta and he was very thin on answers, one thing I did notice though was that the beta was on a saturn CDR, funnily enough the guy had just bought one from japan (checked his feedback) and was claiming that the beta would only work with advanced dev software which he didnt have.

Seems like a lie to just get attention and bids to me, was a real pity it got taken down though because I really wanted a saturn PSQ.

Wow, I believe that was the same kiosk I played on when I was younger at Target. I got to play NiGHTS, but at the time, I didn't know the name of the game, but just that it was awesome.

 

The seller did seem like a bit of an idiot. I kept giving him info which would be helpful to him and potential buyers, and he kept replying saying he didn't understand.

You are lucky - that is NOT a Psy-Q! It is a standard saturn, modded to have a virtual CD port (for the Mirage). It DOES NOT come with the Psy-Q cart (the ACTUAL Psy-Q - read the manual, you just use the cart in a standard retail Saturn), nor the software. Was only worth it for the beta. I wanted that, and the manual, but no prizes for guessing where it went!!

Probably. You're in a tricky situation, if you can't get this to run you may have to hand it to someone more capable, however if it turns out to be a real beta then you could get shafted selling or ownership wise.

 

You obviously haven't seen the value of some of the things that change hands here...

As for the game itself, you could try a system disc, but you would need the right color red/black

It would probably be easier just to use a modded saturn.

 

I dont think Ill need to hand it to anyone thanks. Its almost assuredly not raw code, so a modchip should work.
