"10 pin header" or "10 pin connector" available on ebay

That "pin adapter" isn't meant to be used in the way it is. It is a standard PCB component designed to be soldered in place.

Google for "IDC 10 Pin Male Right Angle header" and you'll find them everywhere

I personally use these, http://search.digikey.com/scripts/D...en&site=us&keywords=517-D2510-5002-AR&x=0&y=0 but anything similar should be fine.

Finally I got my USB Blaster and made the 1.12 update.

Tested with Command and Conquer, Pokemon Stadium 2 and Paper Mario. So far everything works without a flaw. Really great work Krikzz!

Had major problems to get Quartus to recognise my USB Blaster however.
After several hours I found out that the Quartus V11 Standalone Programmer just doesnt recognise the USB Blaster. Its a known Bug! :banghead:

Installed Quartus 10.1sp1 and everything worked without a hitch.

So anybody about to update.... keep that in mind.

Ok. Sorry about that. I read the thread, used version 9.1 of the programmer and hold the conectors but still same result. I'm not using an angle conector but straight one. Is that a problem? Any suggestions?

angle connector better. i guess that pins of your connector just stick out through holes in pcb and does not touch them. if you will look at this photo then you will see that i push on connector at the angle for good connection. you can use straight connector also, but it bit more difficult

Thanks for the replies, Krikzz. After many many attempts, I couldn't update everdrive 64 properly. I've just ordered some angled connectors but I guess I will have to wait a couple of weeks before they arrive. Right now I've got a piece of hardware I can't use. When I get them if I'm not able to update it, could I send my everdrive to you to update it?

Have you tried to solder the connector? That way you have no problem with bad connection. If you have dirt or corrosion on the holes, just sticking the connector in maybe isnt enough....

After getting the "attempt to access jtag server error", installed standalone programmer and worked perfectly(with pin connector in before evedrive is on). Just a tip to anyone who gets that error. Works perfect though thanks krizz. Is this the same method use to update other everdrive's firmware?

I feel I won't be able to fix the problem. The few times it seemed I got a good conection it updated only 46/47%. I don't mind sending you the cart and paying you whatever you tell me but I want my cartridge to work. Will you pm me and give me an address, please? Thanks in advance.

When I update carts it gets to around that 50% and then instantly jumps to 100%, however firmware does update fine. Is that what happened with yours or are you getting errors as well?
