Hype can go either way. Screw with the graphics, and you have bad hype (AKA: Wind Waker). Keep the graphical style and make something similar to OoT, Nintendo gets good hype (AKA: Twilight Princess). Hell, look at how badly FFXI and FFXII are doing on the hype meter. FFXI was nothing more then a semi-average MMO with little to do with Final Fantasy, and it is overlooked. Same with FFXII: Square screwed with the combat system, and now it's taking them longer just to produce, plus the hype isn't as high as it was with the Playstation FF's or FFX.
Cant say anything about FF since I dont play TB-RPGs, and FF isnt the sception To be honest, WW was the first zelda I care about. I didnt gave a damn about Oot. Anyways, maybe the problems WW had with hardcore fans is the reason why TP is goin to be the last zelda: nintendo saw that they couldnt innovate so they prefer to abandom the game before destroying the franchise, like they did with the mario partys.
"This will be, without a doubt, the last Zelda game as you know it in its present form," What he said seems to indicate that they are revising the basic Zelda formula, as opposed to ending the series outright. Although to be honest i've only realy enjoyed two of the zelda games (the original and 'Link to the Past', I havn't played most of the others), im hoping that TP will be as great as everyone is saying it'll be.
Maybe Zelda will be a turn based rpg later in life. Or this could be a hint to the weird new game where Mario gets sucked into Hyrule somehow and must destroy Ganon while Link is sucked in the Mushroom Kingdom and must destroy Bowser!!! Lol. Would be cool to see a Nintendo RPG where all the Nintendo Icons join forces against some bad guy.
Double speech and tricky phrases are a nintendo trademark. I say tomorrow theres gonna be a huge flood in the forums, all kinds of debate and hypothesis about what means what and who say that.......
Oh my god no more yoshi mario is nothing more than the J-lo of the video game world. First he dumps his brother then add toad and the prince then dumps them all for yoshi and now he going to dump yoshi for someone else... This should be on the cover of Video game People.
lol, and that's nintendo's problem. They don't have enough big releases on this console to make people really want a GC. Releasing it next year is fucking stupid since many people won't give a shit about the GC anymore.
What they need to do is (since it is supposedly the last Zelda game) to spend more time on it and release it for the Nintendo Revolution! Man! That would be wonderful... ...sniff, sniff, I'm gonna miss Zelda, snif, sniff... :-(
Yeah I remember that! I never was able to do that cheat jump on the castle instead of using the canon.
How does that count? He is there for like 5 seconds and jumps away over the waterfall. If you could saddle up and go on an adventure on him/her then it would be different, but not some random encounter on the castle roof. I did forget about Yoshi's Island for the N64, though.
Exactly! I was just going to post that, because it seems that not everyone is reading the article, and are just looking at the first post that wasn't correctly written. I find Miyamoto's comments intriguing. Especially this "Mario 128 played a large role in the Revolution's conception, much like Mario 64 in its time." So I'm guessing that whatever "make over" Mario gets on the Revolution will affect or influence in some way not only the next Zelda titles, but also the rest of the gaming library. You might remember that Mario 64 was the game that introduced us to the N64 controller, so maybe Mario will introduce us to the Revolution controller.
I agree with you there - I'm trying hard to get through Ocarina Of Time right now, but I'm just not feeling the same magic as LTTP. Although I did find Zelda 2 to be a lot of fun, if very different. That said, I'm really looking forward to Twilight Princess after seeing a return to visuals that indicate more of the gloomy atmosphere found in LTTP. I just hope the gameplay stacks up, but my problem with the last few Zelda installments has had little to do with how they play. A return to the series' roots or a different direction entirely will be a welcome change; I'm of the opinion the series has been stagnating for a while now and could use some new life breathed into it. Either way, that announcement still leaves things a bit too early to tell, so let's not all rejoice or get upset just yet... :-D
Nintendo is just going to convert Zelda into a first-person "adventure" like they did with Metroid. Yet another series ruined just for the sake of change.
