I'll be looking forward to that, to be sure! So, I'm thinking this just from looking at the screenshots, but this proto... it's almost like a totally different game, huh? I can't wait to be able to play it and see all the changes first hand!

40MB?! Wow. What could be taking up all that data? Perhaps the ROM contains prototype and final graphics?

Yeah megabit, my bad. 5MB is still a sizable ROM, will be interesting to see what it contains. My guess is, and this is just a guess, but perhaps it contains one complete prototype and one incomplete final build they were still busy working on. I can't think what else could be taking up so much space.

I don't quite understand what you mean when you say "corrupt parts". Does the cartridge have faulty parts? Is something in the game data messed up? Please explain. Also looking forward to that video... It'll keep me at bay until you can somehow release the ROM, I think. Good luck!

The ROM dumping routines in many copiers are not terribly optimal. The best way to backup the cartridge is to carefully remove the eproms and read them in a programming device. But you may be able to get it read out with your copier. Perhaps the file you obtained just needs some editing. I can't say without seeing it. Either way, good luck and you are doing the right thing to backup the data to preserve it. Oh and I'm not sure but some copiers let you specify dumping options, like the size of the cartridge. You could try that.

I upload it now on my youtube account and post the link here in the next min.
with the swc i only can choose MBIT size per disk.

I'm watching the video right now. Man, this is unbelievable! It's so different... I like how the characters turn around when they win a battle like in the first game. I wonder why they took that out of the final? And maybe it's just me, but it sounds like the music is also kinda different. Please say you'll post more videos over the course of time! I so want to see more of this!

Try giving ucon64 a try, and force it to dump 20 Mb. I think most copiers depend on the internal header to determine the size of the game, but if it is corrupt, it may not dump properly. There is nothing special about that PCB type that should prevent you from dumping it with your copier.

Thanks for the video! I had a go of Lufia II earlier and it still looks very similar, old man takes you to the cave in the south to teach you his wisdom in battling monsters, just the location of the town is further north across the bridge. It will be interesting to see what else is different, I've never actually played the Lufia games all the way through so this is a good opportunity to finally get round to completing them.
