On BoF II cart, I need to dump eprom U1 to U6 for the game work on emu? On Lufia II cart, I need to dump eprom U1 to U5 to work? how to join all eproms? Thank you for your informations. With Lufia II cart, it's more complicated because all Eproms are solded on the cart. What is the step to remove them?
copy /b U1.bin + U2.bin + U3.bin + U4.bin + U5.bin Lufia2.bin copy /b U1.bin + U2.bin + U3.bin + U4.bin + U5.bin +U6.bin BoF2.bin If you have to ask how to desolder eproms, Id not recommend you do it. You do not have a "read only mode" If you select the wrong chip, then the programmer could end up writing to the chip - just by attempting to read it. This is what happened to Jackhead. High end programmers do some checks to make sure the right legs are connected where they are expected etc to stop this happening.
why you not recommend me to unsold eproms? So for Lufia II the best solution is to read the cart with Snes device? or Retrode 2?
Because its a simple task for anyone capable of doing the job. If you need to ask how - you are likely going to cause damage. Don't want to see another cart die for no reason.
Assuming it can read those test/dev carts - yes. If not, then as I offered above - i will do it for you.
I was going to bid on this cart but the price got a bit steep for my pocket, still well worth the money I hope the winner manages to recover it.
The one being talked about at the moment is a different cart. The eproms were not soldered on jackheads cart. And tools for the job (my pictures btw):
I'd suggest if it's not too much trouble for you to send the cart with soldered EPROMs to BadAd and let him desolder and dump the chips. The one with sockets just be careful when you remove them and be sure the programmer and software have the correct EPROM type selected when you read them.
Just like to point out, I have no interest in stealing the game or anything. I would hope my reputation around here is pretty good by now and its not worth ruining - especially over a proto cart. I have equipment with modding/repairs paid for sitting here right now worth more than this cart. Which is work I wouldnt get if my name was bad. I know it can be difficult to trust random people over the internet, but I imagine I could get enough people to vouch for me. Just please, do not kill this game
Well if it means anything if I had enough money to buy the Estopolis II cart I would have had no hesitation in trusting you to do the work, you would have been my first choice.
I'll reiterate, unless you know what you are doing, do not use an EPROM reader, because you risk damaging the chips. There is nothing in the hardware of that particular PCB board that would prevent you from dumping the game with a Retrode. Any problems you have are because the game was damaged during the original attempt to dump it with an EPROM reader.
The cart he has isnt the one jackhead had. However, he does an exposed windows on both his new proto carts. Jackheads (damaged) cart: trevormacro's new carts: but hes not even tested them in a console before doing this....
Look my Topic, now the game work Good Checksum ! If i apply the same dump for jackhead proto it will work perhaps?
Soon I will receive the jackhead proto. I let yo know. If I dump all eprom on my pc with my device it will work on emulator? without corrupt file. Hi everybody, How it's possible to ready each eprom (first 8Mo, second 8Mo and third 4 Mo) with an editing program? If the sound files aren't corrupted, perhaps someone could say me how it's possible to make a .spc sound dump? so we can look for differences in music. Thanks in advance
Reading this thread it sounds like a "what not to do when u get a proto" lesson for everyone. The owner of the original Lufia 2 proto should've just sent it to a trusted member to dump and that would have been the end of this - proto saved, he can release the rom if he wants, and he has a proto that's prob worth quite a bit of money on eBay. What we have here is 6 pages of people ripping out chips, dumping things with the wrong hardware and then selling the remains on as non-working scraps. Bye bye Lufia 2 proto.
