Hello! I'm a exchange student from Norway, and I'm going to live in London the next eight months. It's my first time in the UK, so I wondered - which places are there I just HAVE TO visit? I know that I'll visit Denmark Street sometimes. I've heard that there are many great guitar stores there, and I want to buy a new guitar. I'm attending Hammersmith and West London College, by the way.
I enjoyed visiting Abbey Road, but I stayed right near Regents Park so it wasnt too much of a trek really.
If you're going to be there 8 months you should be able to see lots of places elsewhere in the country too. Personally I'm not a big fan of London but can heartily recommend the north of England
One of my best friends lives in Hammersmith and her brother is an amazing guitarist. I can certainly speak to her about perhaps him showing you around or at the very least giving you advice. He is however a notoriously lazy guy, so please don't expect instant replies lol.
Casino Arcade on near Goodge station has Progear and Mushihimesama in it, nuff said. Natural History Museum is a must see, my favourite place to visit when I'm there. Camden is an experience too, if you want to be offered a bag of rosemary every 5 metres.
Make sure you definately go to Tate Modern, even if you're one of those people who say they don't like art it's well worth it just to experience the space. Also awesome art and free.
my brother goes to this college and listening to him it is apparently a very bad school and some teachers are racist against the white people, watch yo back :rambo:
Grab a group and head over to Icebar for a round of drinks. And, Ministry of Sound is always worth checking out when there's a good headliner. -hl718
It's not as big as the one in Stockholm, but it's a little easier to get to for most folks. More flights into and out of London. It really is worth checking out just forthe experience. Cover charge includes your parka, gloves and your first drink (in an ice glass). The parka and gloves are more to protect the Icebar than you (they don't want guests melting the furniture, walls or the bar). Because ice is a good insulator it's not nearly as cold inside as you'd think, though it is a bit chill. ESPECIALLY nice to visit on a hot summer. -hl718
