I think it'd be interesting to hear why you all decided to use your specific forum name! I wanted to create this topic ages ago but now I'm finally courageous (and drunk) enough to do so, so let's hear it!
I'd explain mine but I'm a bit on the tipsy side like I said so it'll have to wait, but you might be able to guess (correctly) that it started in an Italian restaurant...

I'm sure a lot of the yanks here thought you were against Pasta somehow. :)

Mine was my original ring name for Virtua Fighter 4. It's displayed on screen when you insert your card, so you always know who you are fighting. I needed something with 'impact' and I'd say I found it. I could hear the other side of the cabinet laugh when I put my card in, so stuck with it, and now...here we are. :)

    well my nick is this

when a friend invited me to jubii chatten (the original danish lycos chat ) i wanted a cool nick and offcourse i am a marvel fan and Jærven (the danish name for Wolverine) is my favorite so i thought hmmmm ... why not WolverineDK ? since JærvenDK would not be a cool international nick. so that is the story about my nick

and at two places i use my real name.

I use F B because when I signed up on the first message board I wanted to join, the name I wanted was taken. So since then, I just kept the same name on each board I join since a lot of regulars know me by that now. Sad, but that's the only story behind this nick. I was just sitting there and it came to me. This from a guy who has used the password snicklefrizz before. :smt042

What was the original name I wanted? Melon Jr. That has a better story, but not by much. My Dad had the nick Melon Man (he had kind of a gut) when he was a detective on the police department, so that made me Melon Jr. I know, kind of lame, but it's a little tribute to my Dad.

Boring story. I liked subzero long ago from MK so I started using the net with the nick subice. After a while someone from agbdev though i should change to subby. I did but then when i registered for another site subby was taken so i went to subbie. And it has stuck since then.

Kyuusaku is a sort of an obscure Japanese first name, coincidentally it's a character from an fun but short and semi crappy anime series I liked ages ago (bannou bunka neko musume or "cat girl nuku nuku"), most importantly "kyuu" is a fun syllable. Also if you play around with "saku" it sounds like it could be a Japanese swear.

My favorite NJstar definition for a random anomaly kanjification of kyuusaku 窮策 which they could described as "hard up"-"scheme" :D

It's about time for me to shed this poseur Japanese pseudonym for a REAL cool timeless 31337 one. Everything I've thought of so far has been taken on AIM which is the place that matters :\

well, i olny had two internet nicknames since i'm connected to internet. the first one i ever used was Cyan2 in the blacksword forums (the first forum i ever visited, (blacksword.fr.st (now dead since 2002), a rpg maker community) Because i liked cyan in ff6 but it was already taken, so you know the result.

as for Cahaz, i found it while searching a name for my fighter in ff1 ( :D) , but sadly you could only take 4 letters...:( i took it as my new internet name (or second name, if you like (but that sound nerdish)) , i wrote it on a piece of paper and used it as my new internet name 2 months after.
i wanted something more original, simple, that had no words in it, nor numbers (to make it looks like a real name (and it's more simple on a forum, since people can really call you cahaz, but it's more difficult to call someone ''themasteroftheuniverse458584439bb'', as an exemple) and uncomon, and i remembered this name. i always use the same name everywhere on the internet to not be confused ( i don't visit alot of forums anyway, since the vibe is rarely good.)

what i love to know is how people actually pronounce it, hehe :D i don't know why, but some pronounce it ''Ka-az'', ''Kaz'', Ka-as'' ''Sa-az'' or ''Saz'', i love to connect myself on an internet multiplayer game using a microphone and hear how people are saying it. there's no real pronounciation to it, you say it like you love it, but i if you tell me to pronounce it, i woul probably respond you ''Ka-az'' (like it's wrote), but it could change depending on my humor. :p

For this nickname, you have to see Alice in Wonderland as well as read up on the madhatter character. I'm very close to his personality most of the time but overall I'm easy to get along with really. At my old job, which I recently just quit, they would call me by San Fernando like the valley in California where its laid back, and being cool&care-free dominate that atmosphere and I'm generally like that where I could care less and go with the flow and be cool with it all.

Back in 94, I started writing and painting.
Thing is, my brother was in the process of becoming a minor celebrity in the art and literature circle in my city, and our names are different by TWO letters. Of course, I decided that I needed some sort of name and signature that would pack a punch in spanish, and would look cool, and also be extremely unique. I was also like 13 at the time.
So I thought of words that would have some sort of impact, and added stronger consonants. And I thought.. hell, pigs are like... heavy and really big. It should work.
Thus, the spanish "Cerdo" (Pig) became "Xerdo" and the spanish word "Puerco" (Pork) became Pwërko.
I actually did sign most of my artwork with the name - and it became my "name" ever since. Hell, most of my friends in real life call me Xerdo. It's one hell of a conversation starter, you know... "Did he just call that guy a Pig?"
To quote Raiden: "it makes up for the boring one my parents gave me"

and to Kyuusaku: I too love Bannou Bunka Neko Musume.

I just got banned from gamefaqs(ugh) and made a stupid temporary name. Unfortunatly it stuck. I should have done something clever.
